I've just started reading
Dick Francis's Gamble by
Felix Francis. The protagonist's American friend is shot dead in the middle of a crowd at a racetrack and he has no clue who shot him or why. So far I've been enjoying it.

Currently I'm reading
Crazy Love You by
Lisa Unger. So far it's been good--it's about a graphic artist who falls in love with a nanny but can't seem to get away from an old girlfriend who's trouble.

I just started reading
The Fountainhead, Ayn Rand's story of an architect. So far I've been enjoying it.

Right now I'm reading
Cruel Justice by
William Bernhardt. So far it has been an excellent legal thriller.

I just started reading
Mars by
Ben Bova, which is about the first manned mission to that planet. So far I've been enjoying it.

Currently I'm reading
The Word by
Irving Wallace. So far it has been excellent--it's about the discovery of a new gospel and the effort to publish a Bible containing same.

I found
Love Saves the Day by
Gwen Cooper heartbreaking. The protagonist is a cat named Prudence and the story is told from the perspective of the cat.

I can't recall the last time I gave up on a book. Because I've found that when a book starts out dull or whatever it picks up later on. I think that if I gave up on a book I'd be missing something.

Currently I'm reading
The Gods of Newport by
John Jakes, It's about a man and his daughter who want to break into Newport society. So far it has been very good.

Currently I'm reading
Hour Game by
David Baldacci. So far it's been very good.

Currently I'm reading
The Prometheus Deception by
Robert Ludlum. So far it has been very good.

Right now I'm reading
Neuromancer by
William Gibson. So far it's not been one of my favorites.

Currently I'm reading
Helpless by
Daniel Palmer. It's about a high school girls' soccer coach and his daughter. He's falsely accused of having had sex with one of the players on his team and of being involved with child pornography and has to prove his innocence. So far this book has been very good.

Currently I'm reading
The Accident by
Linwood Barclay. The protagonist's wife gets into an accident. She dies and so do two other people. She's found to have been drinking, and an empty vodka bottle is found in her car. The protag doesn't believe this because he's almost never seen her drink to excess, she didn't like vodka, and never would have driven drunk. So he's looking into the accident. So far I've found this book engrossing.

Right now I'm reading
8.4 by
Peter Hernon. It's about earthquakes on the New Madrid Fault in the Midwest. The New Madrid Fault is where the strongest quakes ever to hit the US took place in 1811 and 1812. One was so strong the Mississippi River ran backwards. So far this book has been an excellent read.

Just started reading
The Da Vinci Code. So far it has been intriguing the way
Dan Brown goes into symbolism etc. A very engrossing read.

I just finished reading an adorable cozy mystery called
Baseball Cat by
Garrison Allen. Iiiit had a lot of humor and eccentric characters. The cat of the title is a 25-pound Abyssinian named Mycroft or Big Mike. Highly recommended.
Now I'm reading
Power Play by
Joseph Finder. It's about people who go on a corporate retreat way out in the boonies who are taken hostage. So far so good.

Currently I'm reading what Goodreads has listed as
Lasting Damage by
Sophie Hannah. But the book's actual title is The Other Woman's House. (I wonder if The Other Woman's House is its title in the UK while Lasting Damage is its title in the US.) Anyway, it's an excellent book--it's about a woman who's obsessed with a house that's for sale and she looks at a virtual tour on her laptop. She sees a woman who's been murdered in the lounge. She calls her husband to look but then all they see is the lounge without the dead body. I am thoroughly engrossed.

I'm almost finished reading
The Mephisto Club by
Tess Gerritsen which I've been enjoying. It's the group read in another group I'm in. So far it has been excellent.

Currently I'm reading
Dirty Work by
Stuart Woods. It's one of his Stone Barrington novels. So far it's been good.
Before starting Dirty Work I read a mystery called
What the Cat Saw by
Carolyn Hart. I really liked it--I found the culprit more than a little surprising.
