This is a good adaptation. I had it on DVD for years until I loaned it out and it got scratched and was no longer playable. I need to replace it.

Austen's books are different than the Bronte sisters' books, IMO. Of course, I've only read Jane Eyre so far, but the tone of the books seems so different it's like comparing apples and oranges. If pressed though I would honestly say I loved Jane Eyre better than Pride and Prejudice BUT I loved Persuasion by Austen better than any of the lot lol
As for Colin Firth's Darcy ... swoon!! But I loved the PBS one as well.
