These are all great ideas. I especially like RJ's idea about dumping a book I'm not enjoying. Reading shouldn't be a chore. I usually try to push through a book at any cost, but who says I have to? I'm not in high school anymore. There isn't required reading to receive a good letter grade. The idea of just letting it go sounds so freeing.
Thank you everybody!

Ahhh such a good topic. I've hit that reading slump myself more times than I care to admit. I've always just had to wait it out and I hated to do that so I would love to hear other people's ideas about how to get through it.

This is wonderful news. Congratulations, Sunny!!

I just finished Chapter 1.
(view spoiler)[Bella does have a bit of a chip on her shoulder. I think she's moody and a little self-important, but she's also a teenager, so I can sort of give her a pass for it. They all seem to think they're so 'above' everyone else and their problems are so unique and different from their peers lol It's something most grow out of.
Edward's "bronze" hair is interesting. I don't think I've heard of hair described as bronze before. Does that mean it's a particularly shiny shade of brown? lol (hide spoiler)]

I can start this tomorrow probably. I just need to finish a book first. Looking forward to reading & discussing it.

There are a few books I have lined up for challenges that I *must* read by year's end. I would really love to have buddies for them. So, I want to suggest:
*
The Phantom of the Opera by
Gaston Leroux (Suggesting for October, open to other months)
*
The Broken Girls by
Simone St. James (Suggesting for October, open to other months)
*
Legends & Lattes by
Travis Baldree (Suggesting for September, open to other months)

I am going to recommend
Animal Dreams by
Barbara Kingsolver. The connection is the title. It's something I've been meaning to read for years. She's such a good writer.

Hope we can discuss this one :)

AUGUST BUDDY READS ARE POSTED HERE!
Happy reading!"Thanks so much SarahKat!!

Excited to discuss this book.

It was Lucy Maud Montgomery for me. Before I discovered Anne of Green Gables I hated reading, absolutely did not like it at all. My mom used to have to actually bribe me to read lol Then one day that book landed in my lap, and it transformed my whole life. So, thank you, Lucy Maud!!

Hello, friends. Someone named Lassie TV posted all 13 episodes of The Women's Murder Club TV series on Youtube. It only lasted that long but if you're interested, you should look it up. It's *incredibly* different from the books. The casting alone is something else lol
Joy (in the pages) wrote: "I really want to LOVE this series and don't yet. I keep thinking maybe the next one.
Ever feel like that about a series?"Oh, you don't? That's too bad. I am sorry to hear that. And yes, I've been there.
