58421 Hi, Kristina! Nice to meet you. I live on the west coast - in the Golden State (specifically Cali). I also love cats (I have 2 big senior kitties), and writing (It's a lifelong love of mine), but of course, reading is my most favorite pastime. My all-time favorite book is Anne of Green Gables

I have picked out my books for the most part based on what I have already on my TBR list (I hope to read at least 5):

Covers:
Shadowland (The Mediator, #1) by Jenny Carroll A Slice of Murder (Pizza Lovers, #1) by Chris Cavender In Plain Sight (Ivy Malone Mysteries, #2) by Lorena McCourtney The Beginning (Glee, #1) by Sophia Lowell

Titles:
Magic for Marigold
Tears of a Tiger
Forged by Fire
Trial by Fire

58421 The Listopias are incredibly helpful. TY for posting those, Kristina. I was able to find some of my potential reads that way already :)

58421 Hey, Team!! I'm glad to be here. Orange is a little bit of a tough color but I am up for the challenge (that's the point of the group lol). Looking forward to this! :)

58421 I nominate Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. The connection is the summary:

The first ten lies they tell you in high school.

"Speak up for yourself—we want to know what you have to say."

From the first moment of her freshman year at Merryweather High, Melinda knows this is a big fat lie, part of the nonsense of high school. She is friendless, outcast, because she busted an end-of-summer party by calling the cops, so now nobody will talk to her, let alone listen to her. As time passes, she becomes increasingly isolated and practically stops talking altogether. Only her art class offers any solace, and it is through her work on an art project that she is finally able to face what really happened at that terrible party...
