Oh, that's a good one!

This is a good book and I envy those of you who will experience it for the first time. The WWII-era Barcelona setting is vividly rendered and the characters are memorable, even though the plot gets a little convoluted at times. I much preferred the written version and not the audiobook which I thought was far too melodramatic. I read the prequel The Angel's Game last year and liked it even better than this one.

I'm keeping my goal at 52 books read, same as last year.

And finally, I finished the first of the Lincoln Rhyme/Amelia Sachs books (much better than the film):
