Nobody remembers who finished second, but the person who finished second.
The trouble with being a good sport is that you have to lose to prove it.
Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser.
You know what makes a good loser? Practice.

If enough people were interested they could have a thread for each book.

I have only read Leviathan Wakes. I will, more than likely, read the full series when the TV show is finished.

4170 I forgot about the Scout Troopers doing a bit of target shooting.
That was funny.

4170 Welcome Dhesan.

Joe Abercrombie writes great morally ambiguous characters in his "First Law World" series. Staring with The Blade Itself

NASA: Artemis (4 new)

4170 I hope all this happens in my lifetime. We have been promised a return to the moon for too long.

It shouldn't entirely rely on NASA and its, 'insanely', limited budget and we can do it as a world project (governments and private companies)

"For All Mankind" has gotten me re-excited for a moon base. They have one in the middle of the 1970s (as well as the Russkis) and are up to Apollo 25? I don't think we got a mission name and number for that big ass plutonium rocket at the end.

4170 The Mandalorian stuck the landing in the Season finale, with some pretty big reveals.

Bring of Season 2.

The Far Side (36 new)
Dec 25, 2019 04:22PM

4170 This is now live. As of the 24th of December.

It is just re-runs of older cartoons, for now. But their is the promise of new material from Gary Larson.

TheFarSide.com offers a deep dive into Gary’s offbeat sense of humor with The Daily Dose, an ever-changing, random selection of cartoons. Comic Collections offer a different themed collection of his classic cartoons updated weekly. You’ll also find exclusive, never-before-seen extras such as sketches straight from Gary’s personal Sketchbooks. And finally, beginning in 2020, and commemorating the fortieth anniversary of The Far Side, we will periodically unveil new work by the man himself! In truth, we really have no idea what might show up. But, on the other hand, what’s changed?

4170 Ok it's back, but the first 2 episodes have been a little too TV trope-y for my liking.
For something that isn't Disney, it's feeling very Disney so far on S2.

4170 I never felt that. I don't see Geralt as old. He is a very manly man.

By the time Yennefer meets Geralt she is portrayed as a very strong woman who does what she wants. The characters are both much older than normal humans. In the books Yennefer is about a decade older than Geralt. They are both around 100 years old.

If he'd got it on with Piglet it might have "squicked" me out ;-)
4170 It has been a great decade for SFF. A few not mentioned yet.

Drama series:
The Man in the High Castle
His Dark Materials
Watchmen
For All Mankind
The Rain
Witcher
Westworld
Counterpart
Humans
Agent Carter
The Returned (French version "Les Revenants")

Comedies:
What We Do in the Shadows
The Last Man on Earth
Misfits
Russian Doll

Animated:
Disenchantment
Love, Death & Robots
Rick & Morty
Undone
Legend Of Korra

4170 I didn't join Goodreads until March 2011, but I was reading along with the group since January 2009 and I was a member of the Ning forum.
4170 The 3 separate timelines, for each main character, threw me for a bit in the first 4 episodes.

I expect they will come together in the second half of the season.
