They also seem to have contingency planned for doing 6 season (but not 5 I guess). So they had already mapped out a 6 season conclusion or "stopping point".
I'd love to see them doing the final 3 books, but there are going to be some issues due to (Persepolis Rising spoiler): (view spoiler)
Maybe they (view spoiler)
Or maybe they do another platform or format (movies instead of seasons?).

Here's some numbers since you probably all know how much I love those:
2019
Number of Donators: 27
Total Donated: $4,263.10
Total Match: $1,212.60
Total: $5,475.70
2020
Number of Donators: 22 (-5)
Total Donated: $3,131.84 (-$1,131.26)
Total Match: $1,947.80 ($735.20)
Total: $5,079.64 (-$396.06)
So we took better advantage of match dollars this year and are only about $400 short of matching last year with 5 fewer donations .
1 week left to get the word out. Can we break last years total in that time?

Fantasy: House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
Sci Fi: To Sleep in a Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini

I do tend to agree though that announcing ALL 2021 movies will be on the service seems excessive.
However they are running a limited promotion right now for a 1 year plan that is cheaper/month, so it's likely meant to incentivize more people to sign up for that thinking they'll get all the new releases for the next year.

I got the audiobook version for cheap read by Tim Curry, pretty excellent. I should do a relisten one of these years.

Also it looks like they are matching donations right now:
"Did I mention we have matching money? We do, so if you head over now, your donation is going to get doubled."

I'm still holding back my own donation while I wait to see if they are doing matching again this year.
In the meantime I took a screenshot of us being the top contributors, since that's not likely to last much longer. :-D
Unfotunately sharing screenshots on good reads is a pain. I'll probably post it on discord later today.

Personal: 45/50 (90% complete)
Sword: 17/15 (113% complete)
Laser: 16/10 (160% complete)
Comics: 6/5 (120% complete)
This month I've added 1 Sword, 1 Laser, 0 Graphic novels and 0 non-SFF books.
November ended up being a slow/bad month for me. I expected to read most/allRhythm of War and finish Ready Player Two, but I didn't.
RoW is going very slow. I'm only about 25% complete after 2 weeks. I don't really blame the book so much as my inability to concentrate very long while reading. I'll read a chapter or two and start to doze off or my mind starts to wander.
I just looked and I've only read 4 novels and 2 graphic novels since March. Not counting the 2 Dresden books. I mostly did those in audio with some occasional hardcover sessions. That's really low, even for me.
Hopefully I finish RoW this month as I need to read at least 1 other book in order to hit my goal of 50 this month.
RPT I'll finish on my drive home today, so I was only a day off. I plan to do False Value next and likely at least 1 more shorter audio book (possibly non-SFF) after.
So that would bring my total to 48. 49 if I finish Rhythm of War. I've been partway through The Boys, Volume 9: The Big Ride for months. Maybe I'll finally finish that off.
Next year I think I'm going to target maybe 25 books total and like 5 Sword and 2 Laser books maybe. I haven't really decided. In the past I'd do all 12 S&L books (unless I already read them) but this year I've ended up skipping a few and lemmed one (something I'd never done previously).
I still like participating in the challenges, but I don't want reading to feel like a chore. Then again I didn't really think my goals this year were going to be so hard to reach based on past year's reading.

And here is the event for December: https://www.goodreads.com/event/show/...

We are once again doing a Sword & Laser Group for 2020.
The fundraiser will take place from December 1st to the 15th.
Here is the 2020 Campaign page.
Here's a link to our team Sword & Laser World Builders
Last year our goal was $1000 and we blew that out of the water and managed to raise nearly $5,500, in part due to some generous fund matching.
This year is a tough year financially for many folks, but I'm hoping if they do some match we can at least hit the $1000 mark.
I'd recommend waiting at least a few hours (or even a day) to see if there is any matching funds coming this year to maximize your donation. And if not, any amount we raise is helpful, and it's for a great cause.
If you're not familiar with how the lottery bit works, it's pretty simple; for every $10 you donate to our worldbuilders (that includes donations through the S&L page) you get entered into the lottery.
You can see all the cool stuff you can win on the Worldbuilders Lottery page. Although this might be last year's stuff still? I can't really tell. They have a picture of some of the 2020 books on prize draw page
They are also doing Auctions. This year they look to be using some charity auction site instead of ebay. Those won't associate you with the S&L team, but it's another way to donate and one that guarantees you a prize (assuming you win of course). Right now there doesn't appear to be too many auctions up, but I think they add some as it goes on.
