I read 1 book in January, although I started 2 others. Things are still slow. I'm starting to wonder if even 25 books will be too much for me this year.
We'll see how things go. I'm not super motivated to read with my eyes, even though I'm enjoying Small Gods so far, I haven't picked it up very much or read it for long each time.
Hopefully I can shake this off at some point, but it'll likely depend on how the rest of this year goes..

Total Read: 193 (+193)
Average Books Read: 3 (+3)
Total Committed: 2,813 (+2,813)
Average Books pledged: 38 (+38)
Participation so far is about 1/3 of last year, but our participates look eager to read committing to read nearly 38 each, although we're projected to only average 30 each so far.

Similar to our sword challenge, only 35 books each, although we're projected to only average 24 each so far.

Welcome Rachael. We do have some "local meetups" that are all virtual at the moment, some of which happen over Zoom I think.
You can find info about those in the events section.
For the most part though we tend to either post here or on the discord. Some of use us both.

Not especially. I just rate every episode on imdb after I watch it, and the previous picture was (view spoiler)

I thought this was a very good episode. I agree that (view spoiler)

Not sure I want to buy it even though I know it's probably fantastic. I already own it in paperback and have the Rob Inglis version (who does the LotR books too).
I don't really need a 3rd version, despite loving the book. Plus it's one of the more expensive "deals" they've done in recent memory.

The highlight for me was all the Amos and Clarissa stuff. (view spoiler) It's one of the reasons why I enjoyed the book so much too. This arc is really good.
This season's been really good. I kind of like going back to the weekly schedule. It builds anticipation and gives me a reason to come back to this thread to post about it every week (which is the intent of their schedule).
I still feel like enough people don't know about or watch the show though.
I think it's the best thing on TV right now. Although some of the people I recommended it to rolled off it, so I guess it's just not for everyone.
Here is this week's post-show. They have the Nadine Nicole who plays Clarissa Mao/Peaches on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys5ja...
At this point it's been so long since I read Nemesis Games that I don't really remember where that ends. Of course the show hasn't followed the books exactly.
A lot of the stuff was re-arranged, given to other characters along the way.

Yeah. I think we all figured that. Maybe you just have too many Sci-Fi friends and not enough fantasy friends. :-D

I was kind of on the fence about this pick, but I've skipped a bunch of club picks and have a lot of audible credits atm. Seeing it was narrated by Ray Porter put me over the top.
I forget what else he's narrated that I liked, but the fact that I remember his name is a good sign.

Good call!
Please create a new thread to discuss Mr. McClellan in more detail if you'd like to continue to disucss his works.
Back to posting deals.

I generally don't enjoy short fiction. So I picked them up when they were free, but haven't been motivated to pick any of them up.

IIRC we read Promise of Blood for the group awhile back, which is probably the weakest of the 6.
