40148 Joe, I'm glad you are with us, welcome!!
40148 Don't you just hate to pick only one? I have read 57 reads so far this year. Six I have reated 5 stars and twenty-seven I have rated 4 stars. Going over the 4 star reads for this post I found that perhaps I am a little stingy with that fifth star. A good many of my 4 star reads are worthy of five stars.

Five Star Reads so far this year-
Wives and Daughters
Tarzan of the Apes
War and Peace
Angle of Repose
A Horseman in the Sky
Love of Life & Other Stories

And the winner is War and Peace

Me either, nothing comes to mind.
40148 I rarly read a book more than once, even so there is a growing list of books I have now read twice, mostly since joinning this group, ten years now. I have gone back and reread lots of earlier read classics.

If I disregard childrens books I read as a child, then read to my children and now read to my grandchildren. The only book I can think of that I have read more than three times is still A Cry of Angels. I have no idea why this books means so much to me, I just love it.

I agree, I posted this as worthless on message 7 eight years ago. I haven't changed my mind. I can add others, but this one is at the top of the list. I did not define a generation it slandered one.

40148 Due to water damage, I’ve been forced to go through closets getting rid of damaged items. Sometimes there is nothing wrong with the contents of a box and I have come across some long-forgotten things. I just found two books that I do not remember buying or recognize ever seeing before.

One is Ghost Stories from the American South. It does not look like a collection of anything published, but a collection of handed down folklore and legend. It could be really interesting.

The second is Stories of the Modern South. This is a collection of twenty five stories by twenty five different authors. I am super happy about finding this one. I am familiar with eight of the authors represented, but I have not read any of the stories.

I have already finished my Short Story challenge, but I'm sure I will add some of these new stories before the end of the year.
