I have only read Lowry’s The Giver. Your review leads me to want to read another by her. Thanks.

The Sea, The Sea and I am enjoying it a lot. However, I have been sidetracked by
The Deerslayer and currently
The Fountainhead and have not focused on The Sea as much as I should. Two more weeks tops and I will blackout this bingo challenge.

If you should become interested in a nonfiction version of the story--Twain did a great fictionalized yet truthful version--I suggest [book:Joan ..."Cynda, I found the historical fiction Joan of Arc story by Twain to be fascinating. Thanks for the non-fiction suggestion, I will be on the lookout for a copy.

Another review leads to another new author to try. Penelope Fitzgerald sounds interesting, thanks.

If I remember correctly, The Woman in White was also my first by Collins, I've been hooked ever since.

I’ve read a couple of the Clifton Chronicles, but haven’t finished the series. Jeffery Archer has been one of my favorite authors over the years, especially some of his short stories. I agree with you his writing is easy and engaging, I really enjoy his work.

You are doing great. You might try
Xingu, a really good short story for challenge #10. Enjoy!

You have a really great list, with some of my favorites included, enjoy your reading.

Don Quixote a bucket list book that has been on my list for years. Just can't seem to get motivated to try, maybe someday?

You are ripping through these challenges, congrats!

Not to be argumentative, but. The lifestyle of cigarettes, processed foods, excess coffee, and lack of exercise, has probably killed more tv watching couch potatoes, than writers.

I've been away for awhile, what a difference a week plus makes. Welcome to all our new members, so glad you have joined us.

I ordered a copy of it —apparently unabridged! It is more than 1000 pages of very small type. I may go blind tryin..."Terry, I loved it. It is #7 on my favorites list. I will admit to being intimidated by its size, but I found it to be a smooth fast paced easy read. I can’t say if the pace was really incredibly fast, or I just couldn’t put it down. If there wasn’t so many other books I want to read I would reread this starting tomorrow. Good luck and if I had to bet money as to you liking or disliking, my money is on you will like it, a lot.

Welcome Joel

Last year I did two cards-I might have to do that again this year as well.-..."Two cards!! Such courageous daring! I will be rooting for you and checking out every book you post. As close as I am to the finish line, I lack the adventurous nature to try two cards this year.
