You really are doing well. Aren't you glad it's a buffet and you can go back and help yourself to more

I like your system of review, good luck with the rest of your year.

I've been thinking about this trilogy for a while, still on the fence. Another nice review!

Good luck with your challenge. Nice choices!

Ouch, out of alternates. fingers crossed for your last two.

Welcome Jacqui!!

If I have to pick one author to be the all time favorite it is McMurtry. I have probably read more than 30 of his books, while I can't say i thought them all great. The majority of them I would gladly reread. Great review!!

You are doing great. I think I could be doing better, but I'm trying to avoid duplicates. I'll need a few more months to see any good results, but I have finished short stories. Thanks for the TBR's

Welcome Yami and Bojana, I’m glad you are with us!

Welcome Millie, I'm glad you are with us.
Babette’s Feast by
Isak Dinesen is our May 2021 Short Story/Novella Read.
This discussion will open on May 1
Beware Short Story Discussions will have Spoilers

My first and only experience with John Wyndham was
The Day of the Triffids, I've been wanting to add The Chrysalids ever since, glad to know it will be worthwhile.

You just need the center free space, and you have your first Bingo. I started
Tarzan of the Apes for my O1 Classic of Africa yesterday, so far, it’s great.
Leni wrote: "I definitely want to read The Secret History at some point. But I've heard that the characters are less likeable there, so I better make sure I'm in the right mood."I can’t say the characters aren’t a little despicable, but the writing was great.

Terris, I read A Princess of Mars several years ago. It was my first by Burroughs. I just started reading
Tarzan of the Apes last night, loving it, can't put it down. I will be reading more by Burroughs.

I read The Lottery, my only Jackson short story, several years ago and still remember it strongly. A powerful story all should read.

Leni, I read The Secret Histories a few weeks ago, really enjoyed it. It was my first book written by Tartt, The Goldfinch is next, glad to hear it is good.

Terry, I've read all of the series, in fact I've read just about everything McMurtry ever had published. It saddens me knowing he has passed, he was a true favorite.

Welcome Lucija!

It also took me years to finally read Dune. I wonder sometimes what keeps from reading books of interest. Dune was on my radar for over twenty years. When I did read it I was surprised at how good it was.
