I liked the Stiletto series too. I tried a couple of her earlier books and wasn't as thrilled.

I sense a Jo Goodman re read binge coming ...

By any chance did his father arrange the marriage?

I agree with you Janga. But even the weakest in this series is still still pretty good.
I think part of it is that the issues the book deals with just are not as powerful--the dad thing could be but wasn't .
I did like how well they communicated and Joe was great.
But if the external issues are not that strong and the couple actually knows how to communicate then the story can be a bit bland.
I too would love Ryan's story ...

I know what you mean Janga. She keeps taking it on the chin...

About to read the last book in the Pink Carnation series by Lauren Willig

I think I should reread this book. I didn't like it the first time--I'm not a fan of big public apology scenes --but this is better than I remember

Oh weird. Earlier today it didn't have your name! Yes please and Rachel can I interest you in the 24?

If you would like to be on the Puzzler Schedule for the rest of the year please let me know.

Yes please! Thanks Rachel.

Whoops! Apparently I forgot to assign next Monday. Anyone interested?

They are at Barnes and Noble and you can download free book readers for your phone or iPad or computer.
This book is available for $4.99 on kindle--still pricy for a novella. I don't understand their pricing on this...

It's very short and was sold in hardback. I think people felt it was overpriced. If it had been a paperback or in a book of novellas I think those reviews would have been more positive

I thought this was charming.

I'm starting this thread at Okie's request. This week I will start with rereading Loretta Chase's dressmaker trilogy, since I have two big work meetings and need the humor. After the meetings I will read Lauren Willig's The Other Daughter and Meredith Duran's Lady Be Good.

So this is romantic suspense?

I am rereading Smooth talking stranger. After that Luck be a Lady by Duran and Thrill me by Mallery

No idea. Funnily enough the first para sounds awfully familiar
