John I read most of GB books but with irritation. She has a lovely writing style and does relationships well. But struggles with plotting and with the mores and customs of tbe times.
I really enjoyed her contemps so you might start there.

One of the women in Robyn Carr's Summer in Sonoma goes through chemo. If you haven't read it you might like it. Unfortunately we probably see least of her out of the four but it's one of my favorite books by her.
And there is also a Joan Wolf contemp where the secondary couple (older) goes through it .

The first in the series--and maybe my favorite hero of the series. Nice choice!

Oh good to know Janga. She is another auto-buy for me and on my Nook.

I loved the EJ and also Sarah Mayberry's Anticipation which just came out. Starting the JAL

I did read it! But years and years ago. She is amazing

I will be reading the new EJ and JAL this week, also Manda's book.

Definitely haven't and can't wait to find out!

Manda I have been getting frustrated with shalvis --same commitment issues for every couple and a lot of word repetition --but I will have to try this one.
When she is on she is really good.

Marnie she takes some interesting risks as a writer in some of her books. If you want to try her I would start with My Lady Notorious which doesn't evoke those kinds of opposing responses and which I find a delight. Or this book. Books like An arranged marriage and Forbidden are the ones that evoke a wider range of responses.

Janga thanks! I've read them all except the Farr and really liked them...certainly those are my top 5 trad authors although I might pick a different book for some.
I have a hard time imagining the daffodil dandy as a hero so I hope she does write it!
The one I'd also like her to write is Chelmly...the lord who is too busy to get married until he is knocked unconscious and realizes Lord Randal might end up inheriting his estates...
And I would love to see a book that shows Emily and Ver married.

Janga I have to ask--what are the other four?

We always post the answer --usually Tuesday evening . Hang in there!

There is a lot more to this hero...one could argue that he is the only person in her life that appreciates her as I recall--or perhaps the only one besides an aunt

What a great book! And what a great example of this author's unforgettable opening scenes.
Gotta dig it off my keeper shelf and reread it.

Probably going to take a quick
Break from romance until next weeks romances and instead read some books by Alain de Bouton.

Jill Shalvis has several such tics. She wrote some of my favorite contemps but I find it hard to read her later books for this reason--I probably should just write and tell her.

Ok, time to say what it is!

Reading Anna Cambells last three book. I stopped reading her a while ago finding them overwrought and impossible to believe in their world. These are still over the top but also have enough humor and plausible human emotions that I am enjoying them.

Yes while I don't like the first in the group the other three are wonderful.
