Manda--in case you don't get my PM does Monday still work?
Deb

I just finished the new Balogh. She is always wonderful. I loved George and Dora but didn't find Dora's changed relationship with her mother particularly compelling. Also I loved having an older couple but felt Balogh underplayed the passion older couples can have.
I also read and loved Jo Goodmans new book. Not her strongest plot and the hero's change in behavior was not all that believable but the characters were wonderful.
The other thing that I have been reading and loving is Jennie Crusie's blog. She has been putting up bits of work in progress which is fascinating especially since we see the rewrites. Then she blogs about what she changed or needs to change and why. It must take a lot of courage.
It's also a little like watching her procrastinate and that's frustrating since I want to read another book by her dammit. She blogs a lot a lot TV shows which doesn't interest me. And she was saying that the piece she is working on wor become a book although that may be changing.
Anyway I recommend it to all of you.

I think I have read all the Stewarts. She really put the Romantic into her books-.Nine Coaches Waiting is a favorite but they are all great.
I guess I should check out Stevenson.

Like Janga I am basically vampire free--exceptions for Terry Pratchett and Thea Harrison.
So you can tell us now Rachel.

Oh Janga that makes me feel old! I used to read Cadell!
Of course I would read anything they would let me take out of the adult section--I was maybe 12 or 12 and had read everything that interested me in the children's.
I will have to look for them.

Waiting for tomorrow's new Balogh release...

Thanks Janga--I misunderstood.
May has a lot of great releases doesn't it!

Janga and Leigh-Ayn what did you think of the Lenora Bell?

Just finished the new Fools gold book.
I really liked it--the couple is good together and she plays with her somewhat formulaic endings in a good way.

I didn't love Dirty but it also felt like a good set up for the next books so I will keep reading. I didn't really love the Pixie and the Player either.
I'm on the third book in the London Rivers series which I do love, and looking forward to new releases tomorrow by Sarah Morgan, Susan Mallery and Jodi Thomas.

It took me a minute but I know it--my favorite of the series.
I really like the way Hero teaches Heroine who essentially had to grow up early how to play again.

Manda: To give you a flavor--from the second book.
It was one of those tragic relationships: I'm a junior policeman, she's the goddess of a suburban river in South London--it was never going to work out.

Leigh-Ayn we usually wait until Tuesday evening. So since you are 14 hours ahead of us, maybe post mid-morning Wednesday your time?

Manda, I really recommend Midnight Riot. Great world building, and the voice of the hero rings true and is highly distinctive. So is the plot. The pacing is a little forced but otherwise I liked everything about it.

Janga I shared that feeling but I also liked the way that the heroine realized that running a school was not for her. There were so few choices for single women and it felt very true to the period that she would take on the school because it was one of her few options and then realize she didn't like it.

I mean than Cheri is talking about.

Stacey what series are you talking about? I think it may be different than the one Manda meant.

I'm reading Midnight Riot after Lois McMaster Bujold recommended a book in the series. Not romance--sort of a combination between a British police procedural and an adult Harry Potter. So far it's great.
