Can I get a ruling on A Hero of Our Time?

Wikipedia show it being published in 1840, GR has the publication year of 1839. In these cases, is Goodreads assumed to contain the correct date?

I'm looking for OLD books for this task. :-)

Great! I knew there was a way to search for this in Wikipedia -- I just couldn't remember how to get there.

Thanks for the info, and all the time you spend keeping these challenges going!!

Are there any tips or tricks (or lists) to show author's birth years? I'm hoping someone more clever than I appear to be has find a better way than 'hunt and peck' find the birth dates.

(I loved this book! It had the original poems, written in Spanish, side-by-side with the English translations. I don't think that this qualifies for pre-1990 Style points. All these poems were published before 1990, but this book, which was a selection of poems culled from many earlier books, was published after 1990.)

This was a graphic memoir. It was my first foray into the graphic 'novel' genre. My reading of the rules for graphic novels is that they can't be used for 15 point tasks nor do the qualify for any Style points. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

This was a great memoir about dealing with the issues that arise with aging parents!
