35559 Vicki, that sounds like the best weekend! Love playing games like that with family.

My husband still isn't over when we played Articulate (similar to Taboo) with my then housemates and the phrase 'what's cooler than a freezer' was the hint for a fridge and was answered within seconds. He thought we were all daft.

Mel - He is an awesome addition to our team and I'm glad he's enjoying reading more on his own as a result. Will have to keep it in mind as a tactic in a few years.

Teddie - if she gets to spin the wheel it adds to the excitement!

I feel like probably isn't that much worse than some of the other tasks that get thrown into challenges.

We definitely do! My Mum died on 21st May 9 years ago when she was 58 which has made me all to aware of how little time you can have them for. Bought home 2 summers ago when my FiL and grandmother died within a week of each other.

The kids adore him and there were cries of grandad and many hugs as soon as they saw him. Need to keep that going as long as they'll allow!

35559 I've know got Californian Redwoods joining the vines and weeping willows in my personal forest!

Also known as the coast redwood, this species includes the tallest known tree in the world. Many redwoods exceed 300 feet in height, and the longest-lived are estimated to be more than 2,000 years old. The trees occupy a narrow stretch of land from northern California into southern Oregon, where dense coastal fog provides necessary moisture. Just as a redwood rises above other trees, you are a leader among your friends. You carefully consider decisions, make good choices from the start, and stick with them. People admire your strength and rely on you for it.

The gif are excellent, even if the waiting game is frustrating.

We're into the last few days before Book Games kicks off!

Couple of quick housekeeping bits that can be found on the 1st page of comments for reference.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/... we are predominantly going to be using the tracking sheet. If you can't use it for whatever reason, please let us know and tracking posts here can be copied over to the sheet.

The options given in the rules as reasons why a book might work for a particular category are not set in stone, so use your imagination and judgment when it comes to reasons. If you aren't sure, just ask!

It's the first time this challenge has been run so we are all learning together. Hopefully with patience and coming at communication as if everyone is trying their best, we can make this a really great one.

35559 It's been between 20-25 deg C for the last few days which is good enough! Unfortunately next week it dips a bit again and gets rainy.

35559 Sounds like you've got a wonderful long weekend with yesterday's lunch and tomorrow's plans.

I'm having my dad over tomorrow for a barbeque. Normally we end up going to him, so I'm pretty sure I've overcatered to compensate!

35559 We're about 4 days from the start now so time to start finishing off those pre-challenge books as only books started after the start time can count for points.

Does anyone know what they are starting on 15th?

I'm a forest of vines and weeping willows! lots of long tendrils going on.

I miss the weeping willow my grandparents had in their garden - was great fun to hide underneath as a kid.

I'm loving the people as forests with different trees for different stages.

35559 I got Vine which I'm not convinced by at all. Indecisive and liking to go places I can show off my charm and elegance don't fit. I'll take the being empathetic and seeing both sides though.

Cecily - I'm a September Virgo so close in the year to you for a birthday!
