35559 Okay cool 😎

35559 So it's okay if we do that? If I were to finish a book today that ended in 2 and you finished one that started in 2 as well or in a 4 and then tomorrow one of us reads one that starts in a 3 that's okay even though they weren't read in order?

35559 Still no response, but if they say no I can read Double Shots, Donuts, and Dead Dudes (A Cape Bay Cafe Mystery Book 8) by Harper Lin which is 252 pages. Then we have a buddy read for The King's Favorite (Daughters of Avalon, #1) by Tanya Anne Crosby 333 pages. I think you're doing that one but if not, I am.

Does anyone else have anything?

Jenny, I assume we CAN read these now and not wait, right? Do you know if we can use our books we are doing for the countdown and double dip?

35559 Yay! I thought I was just about the only one that doesn’t plan out a month of reads! Lol My reading desires change too much, but since I’m going to Cabo I want to plan a book or two. But this challenge starts later in October around the 7th I think. Maybe that’s another challenge lol So that helps. I hate going on vacation and have a challenge start because with most challenges it takes a little bit of time to get used to them even if I’ve played them before because a year ago of playing doesn’t spark my memory that well. LOL

35559 One book I finished today is 302 pages BUT I started it yesterday so I don't know if it would count. I asked in the Q/A.

35559 We need to read for regeneration and I began a book yesterday and finished it this afternoon. May I use it or not since I began it yesterday?
Sep 23, 2019 08:50PM

35559 Yes, I understand now. I just didn’t realize that we had to start with books that had 250 pages plus. I’m glad I found that out now because I’ve been looking for books that ended in the number one so somebody could read a book that was 100 and something pages LOL I’m such a loser Jenny! LOL what would I do without you girl?

35559 So we cannot start from a book that ends in zero? I was looking today for books that end in a number 1 but didn’t find any yet. I also finished a couple books today but I think that they ended in higher numbers but I’m going to look. If we found a book that was, for example, 161 pages we could use it right? Then the next book would need to begin with the number 2 if I understand correctly.

35559 I would think we could pick up the slack unless we're being held to the number of books we said we'd read per week. I would think it would be a team total, as long as one team member doesn't miss a week or 2 weeks. I'd have to go look in the rules or ask about that. Maybe Carmen knows.

35559 Wow! 418? That's amazing! :) I got the same as you, so we (team) need to be careful, especially if we have other heavy readers.

35559 Looking at this I have a couple questions:
Each week we'll do a team analysis of books read vs books signed up
Teams that stay in the 80% - 120% reading range get an additional 50 points
Teams that fall below the 80% mark get a penalty of -20 points
Teams that go over the 120% cap but stay under the 250% get a penalty of -100 points
Teams that go over the 250% mark get a penalty of -200 points

I don't know about everyone else but I read a lot...just reached 301 for the year. I am wondering if anyone is good with math (not me) if we can somehow figure out our books to read range so that we can get our 50 points every week and never get a penalty.

35559 Okay, I just wanted to be sure I had it right. I'll check the rules. Does it count as one of our 40 books? I don't know where to look so when you can, no rush, can you tell me what do I do? Do I just say something on the DQ like 'playing for team We Lava to Read? Or do I post it somewhere? If you don't know, I'll try to find it.

35559 Jenny, do I need to read Recursion by Blake Crouch now during September and do the DQ's prior to October 1?

No worries, Jill. We have your back! Good luck with your move!

35559 Hey everyone, I'm like the rest of you...ready to plan and discuss but not wanting to post if I'm not supposed to yet. I was looking at the thread of all the teams and one team has like 133 posts and our team had 5 other than the reserved boxes. LOL So I feel behind. This is my 2nd time playing TT and I'm very excited to play again. :)

Mary, Mary Congratulations!! Curious where you'll honeymoon!

I'll be gone from Sept. 30 through Oct. 10 (more like 11th since we get back late). BUT I'll be taking my books/NOOK/Libby/Scribd with me so hopefully my reading won't slack too badly. I just hate that I won't be home on day 1 because I won't have access to a regular computer all the time and cell phones don't cut it! I might be PM-ing one or two of you if I have questions or need help posting. Hope that's okay.
Sep 22, 2019 03:34PM

35559 Thank God for Libby! Lol
Sep 22, 2019 02:05PM

35559 Okay I’ll read it. God only knows we need the points! LOL
Sep 22, 2019 11:49AM

35559 Jenny, did you get permission to do the DQ's for Recursion so we can get our points? If so, I'll get the book so I can read it.
Sep 21, 2019 08:29PM

35559 Jill, I see that you signed up for The Invisible Man. I hope you like it! I have only read Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison in college and I loved it.
