Your first book by Amy? Wow! Try Making Faces by Amy Harmon From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon or The Law of Moses (The Law of Moses, #1) by Amy Harmon

I understand what you mean about the chemistry. I was okay with that though.
35559 Okay, that's cool, Laura. I thought I was all alone. lol

I'm sorry I haven't gotten my comments on here earlier but I had to do my reading for various challenges and comments when I had time. But I don't think it matters because I don't think anyone is reading my comments anyway...is anyone?

I love how Annie was loved her grandpa so much and got the opportunity to really learn about him and her family. There was so much he hadn't told her and I loved watching it unfold. Such an opportunity to learn about all that she did in the way she did.

I loved this one just like all of Am's books. :)
35559 Normally I don't care too much for time travel because it sometimes confuses me. I was listening to the audio version of this one for a while but I was again a little confused with Anne and Anne.

Thomas (view spoiler) which I really like because it shows how he pays attention to detail. Like when he said (view spoiler) I was glad when he said all that so that I knew he knew.
35559 I don't know what it is about Amy Harmon, but for me she just can't go wrong. I love how the story starts off with Annie and her grandfather talking about some family history. It reminds me so much of myself with my grandparents and my children with my parents. We sometimes just don't learn enough while we can.

I'm not super familiar with Irish history, but I'm enjoying reading this one so far.

I find it interesting that her grandpa said the reason no one ever smiled in photos is to appear sophisticated, or something to that effect.

I've read several books recently where a mother or other adult family member starts off the book with having cancer. It's so sad, but her grandpa seems like he's had a nice, long life.

I also love the use of a "history book/journal" to learn about Annie's family's history.
35559 Amy is a class 1 author: humble, down-to-earth, flexible with her writing genres (loved From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon ) and she's one of my very favorites. I'm going to read this one today and hope that I can disagree with some of your comments. LOL I hate it when a favorite of mine doesn't meet my expectations, but I don't think anyone can hit it 100% of the time. Hopefully I'll like it better than others in this thread. :)
35559 Amy Harmon is definitely one of my favorite authors! She’s amazing! I’ll be joining in on this BR!

35559 Thanks, Tina, maybe I'll bow out then. I have a lot of active challenges and this one just ever really seemed to flow for us, or at least not for me. I think it's time to move on. Enjoy if you keep playing. :)

35559 Okay, I feel totally lost right now but I'd like to continue as well. What should I be reading now?
35559 Thanks Laura and Brooke. :)
35559 Would anyone mind if I butt in and buddy up with you?
