They have aged a bit. I really enjoyed both, but Lily Bard a little more (no spoilers, but Sonia knows why!!)

I still haven't started the series. Maybe that is the way to begin if the originl narration isn't good? Or are the full cast quite dramatised or abridged?

Which books be those, pray tell? lol."

Manfred is from the Harper Connelly series 😬 and Bobo is from Lily Bard.
There are some others who appear too but I can’t remember off the top of my head

35559 My second one done. Which gets me to the goal for this theme!
The Royal Assignment by Terence Gray

Another audible freebie. I thought this would be a 3 star listen, but by the end it was a little boring and the characters (and the lack of chemistry between the two leads) didn't engage me. A fairly short holiday read, but I could have enjoyed my time more with something else.

I really enjoyed it, but in part that was due to the character cross over from other books

haha. oh no
I never did put it on my list. Sounds like that was a good decision :o

Across the Wall A Tale of the Abhorsen and Other Stories (Abhorsen, #3.5) by Garth Nix
I don't like short stories generally so I'm not sure why I put this on my list... I should have tried to read it years ago when I was reading the main series

35559 yay :)
and not a terrible average at 72%. I'm sure we can smash it in 2023

35559 Haha fair enough.
I’m also being sure to not read cover colours; and stick to my RL book club books and my tbr closet 😬😆

35559 Finished
Cut and Run by Ben Acker
Free from audible and narrated by Meg Ryan. So nice to hear her voice ;)
It is a silly dark comedy, but only a few hours long. I really enjoyed the full cast style with this as it was made for audio (rather than a book that is adapted/abridged). I kept thinking about the 'old days' before TV when there were the wireless shows.... I guess this is the modern day version!
I'd recommend this if you want something quick and silly without a lot of thinking required. It is summer here so was the perfect new years day read by the pool

35559 Well done, Sammy!

I also have my first one done. I just couldn't get it finished for 2022, so brought it over here and increased my goal by one also.

Great conclusion to the series - would have benefited from reading it 5 years ago, but anyway... I managed to remember enough :o

35559 I deleted 3 more from 2015... It just isn't going to happen.
The rest I have moved to my 2023 challnge. Two I am currently reading and should finish before I go back to work next week.

So ended 2022 at 77%.
2023 will be more achievable

35559 I was thinking of adding the number of books on my tbr to my 2023 post and then seeing what it is at the end of next year. I honestly have no idea if it goes up or down - will be interesting to see!
