The author should have definitely taken more time to do research. She should have had people go over the book and tell her to fix up her characters.
Hera and Aprodite were relatively good portrayals but I still found Hera to be a bit out of character. I don't see the point and reasoning behind her being the 'villain'. I think she can get away with Apollo being human as it's what he wanted (for some reason), but not Hermes. He was just a fill in and a let down.

Oh that sounds good. I've been looking to find some retellings. I wish I'd known about it earlier to join in. I think it's too late for me now

35559 We can start with classes from the beginning of the challenge - May 12.

We're nearly done with the Unforgivable Curses (need two 'i's) and we have Morsmordre to do for Obscure Spells. So we can start planning our classes. If we read a book that doesn't fit in with a class or quidditch or the tri-wizard tournament, then we'll use it for spells.

We've started with Arithmancy and have it mostly planned out.

History of Magic should be fairly easy to do.

The other ones I think will require some planning.
If you want Amanda, you can go ahead and put down books in the classes tab. We can then work around what you've put down.

If we need a book that's in spells, we can read another book to replace it.
- Antigoddess by Kendare Blake is in spells. The cover has a feather on it so we could use it for transfiguration or levitation charm (maybe) or Care of Magical Creatures.

That's great Amanda. Thank you!

You've read the most books out of all of us and definitely boosted our points by a lot. Kudos to you!
What's the fairy challenge? I hear fairies and my ears peak up

Talia, don't worry about the time. My book is a buddy read as well and it's in June. We can put whichever one you read first in the 800pg one

Yes. Provided there's discussion about the book from you and others.

35559 Teri wrote: "Okay, I'm sorry, I think I am confused about some of the BR stuff. So, I can join it at any point? Or it needs to be within a certain time frame?"

You can join in at anytime. Just make sure you have not read the book in the past 6 months and for point to count, there needs to be some discussion after your post. So, it's good to read what others say, click 'reply' and add your thoughts onto theirs. That way, there's a higher chance they'll reply to you.

I've got a feeling Feyre is the one who'll get to him. I get that it's hard for her but seeing Tamlin as he was. Man I feel sorry for him
35559 Whoop! I finished the book finally.

In the end, I thought it was alright. It definitely is repetitive in some aspects and does not have much happening in it (obviously as it's a novella).

I agree with you all that Nesta's just awful. But I can understand where she's coming from - still dealing with being changed, still adapting to her new world, still adapting to living at the book 3 events, still dealing and accepting Cassian. We read what was going through her head in the spoiler chapter for book 4 so I can see it's still hard for her to deal with that trauma and to accept who she is.
@Sailor - I totally hope her living with the Illyrians will help her... I think it's what she needs. To beat out her frustrations of life and do something about who she is and meant to become.

@Snowtulip - Yes! I think I've wanted Elaine to be with Lucian as the mate bond and all that. But Azriel... I think he deserves it more. But then Lucian would be devastated and he deserves more for all he's done. Argh!
