35559 Okay BOM last DQ is posted!
Spreadsheet is updated - didn't really know what to put in for the books as I know we don't need much but the story so let me know if you have questions about any of my books and how they may fit!
Thanks everyone! <3 :)))
35559 8. Stealing a quote from day 4: ‘Sometimes, even when you start with the last page and you think you know everything, a books finds a way to surprise you.’ Did this book surprise you? If it did, was it in a good or a bad way?

It was a pleasant surprise! i wasn't surprised about them getting together even though the book kept pushing us away from that! I think I just was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the book overall.

19. Libby’s big secret surprised Nora. Was it what you expected? What are your thoughts on her keeping it secret and using the list to try to win Nora over?

I actually hated that her sister did that. It felt really manipulative to me. Her sister is trying to get her needs met in terms of what she wants without really taking into consideration Nora and her needs/wants.

20. What about Nadine and the cat? Did you appreciate this side story? How did you feel about how it played out in the novel?

Loooved the cat and how that came together.

22. I loved Nora’s interaction with Clint, what about you? Do you think she overstepped? Do you think it influenced the ending?

I think it was sweet. Yes I do think it influenced her decisions and the ending.

23. The ending. It is very much a Happily Ever After. Nora gets almost everything. Was it too HEA or just right and did you like it?

It was good! I mean, I think we read books like this for the HEA. :) So I was happy with it.

35559 Will answer last question for BOM today and add in a couple more books to finish this up! Aahhh. It’s been fun everyone!
35559 Day 3 Questions Chapter 14-20

10. Charlie and Nora make a bet that Nora can finish everything on the list but Nora is a tad doubtful but she's determined to push through for her sister. Have you ever made a bet where you're bound and determined to win but knowing deep down inside that you may be doomed from the start? (For example: If I took a bet where I had to do a tower of doom thingy at an amusement park, I'm going to need a blindfold, some alcohol, and some prayers, and not necessarily in that order!)
I am not a betting person! I can't stand things like that actually. When someone tries to bet me I'm always like - nah that's okay. I am the kind of person that will just go with what happens and I don't want to force things that aren't meant to happen. I don't like the idea of doing something out of like...pride? or spite? lol. I want to do the thing because I WANT to do the thing.

11. We are starting to learn more about Frigid but I still want to know what the book is really about. Why do you think the cat has to stay?
I wish I knew! I love cats so I love that part. I am thinking it has to do with like the cat and the MC bonding in some way?

12. Libby is a little bit of a hot/cold person. She can turn her emotions quickly and I'm not sure if all of that is due to the pregnancy. Any ideas on what has her so upset at times and why she needs to distance herself?
She's obviously hiding something from her sister. Maybe she is not pregnant and it's really a tumor growing in her stomach and she is dying and wants to spend her last few months with her sister. lol i hope i'm wrong.

13. Finally, we end this section with Nora and Charlie in Charlie's childhood bedroom. This is a two part question. One, do y'all still have bedrooms at your childhood home? Mine got repurposed after I graduated college but I always think it's interesting who still has one and who doesn't. Second, Charlie immediately sensed something had happened when he saw Nora in the room. What do you think of the progression of their friendship and do you think Nora will start to open up and lean on him more?

We don't have my childhood homes anymore (either mom or dad side). So, nope. I do still have some stuff that I leave at my mom's house though!
And as far as Nora and Charlie - I do think this is meant to be an opening into a deeper friendship here in this scene.
35559 Responding for Team Hector :)

Day 2 DQs!

6. So, "Frigid", the book within a book being written by Dusty and edited by Charlie. Fan fiction or a brutal hatchet piece?
I would say fan fiction, but I did feel uncomfortable with it. Like, if they are as close and talk as often as it seems to imply, why wouldn't Dusty just say something? I get that it might feel weird though too.

7. We get more of the backstory of Nora's life. Does this history give you hope for her future as well as explain her current attitude towards love?
It makes sense but I do wonder how her mental health is. ha. And the fact that going to see a therapist hasn't been mentioned tugs at my little therapist heart in a bad way.

8. Libby is at too much of a loose end - setting up a fake dating profile for Nora & everything!? What do you think this says about the sisters and their relationship?
This is a huuuuuge breach of confidence and boundaries for me. I think it is trying to signal how close the sisters are, but it felt icky to me.

9. So we've seen the failing business to be saved, been on a date to a karaoke night - are you enjoying seeing the Small-Town Romance cliches (and I loved that the song mutilated was the theme for that classic Small-Town, Second Chance Romance, Sweet Home Alabama!) being subverted?
haha it has been fun actually - the "meta"ness of the whole thing (no i don't mean facebook ugh i hate that they used that word). It's cute because it's kinda making fun of it and acknowledging the silliness of it all while still showig how its sweet too.

35559 Hi! I am finally done wit the craziness and off to vacation tomorrow. I added a bunch of books to the spreadsheet:
Ace of Spades
Cafe Con Lychee
What Moves the Dead
The Gifts of Imperfection
The Explosive Child
Daughter of the Mood Goddess

All are finished except the last one. Links are all in the spreadsheet so please just let me know what we need at this point and I will find something to work for these! A bunch, if not all, have some mentions of food, I know someone else read Daughter of the Moon Goddess this challenge but can't remember who...and if anyone else has read any of these, let me know! I'll try to check in while on vacation though my internet may be spotty, so feel free to PM me Captains if I am not around hehe. Hope everyone is having a lovely summer/winter depending on where you are. :)

OH and I still plan to read Book Club for August if it is still needed!

And It Came From the Sky

Not sure where they fit but due to my busy schedule figured I’d throw them in here if someone wants to see where they can fit!

35559 Sehrish I LOVE the Raven Cycle. One of my favorite series. It’s maybe not for everyone but I think they are well written and fun and interesting. :)

35559 Hi! I am a little MIA currently because I am crazy busy leading up to a vacation I am taking on the 28th of July. I am reading but it’s much less than normal. If we need something please feel free to just send me a PM to make sure I see it! I just don’t have time to keep up with the chat and the speed at which we chat in here. HahHa. I’ll check back in once I am slowing down and can get back into the groove of things! :)

35559 Yay Beth! Then these will be great. Not too long and nothing intensely upsetting, generally speaking. You should definitely check out her other book Into The Deep. Loved that one. Hehe

I love most everything that author writes. :) I will say I liked some of the books better than others but they were all great. They are kinda like an anthology but all the stories are connected. Definitely some are way more on the horror side fyi as a heads up!
