35559 Zuza if you could find the farm/ranch one (#9) I could do 7th in a series probably. I was just hating the one I chose and couldn’t find anything else! And let’s see between the four of us who can fit in #10!! If anyone finds something, let’s make sure to post ASAP so we know :)

35559 Looks like the cut off time is 2 days and 9 hours from now. So whatever we think we can get done.

Book: The Club Dumas by Arturo Pérez-Reverte
Qualification: #8 - author is from Spain
Rating: 3 stars
Review: I’m not sure if this was a struggle for me because I was distracted this week or because it was actually this confusing. I felt like I didn’t fully understand who people were throughout the book. I did enjoy the premise but it never felt like it came together.

35559 Yeah Zuza, looks like it. I don’t know if I’ll be able to finish for Sunday evening either, if that’s when it ends. I still have two books to go and I might finish one but not the other. :( We can definitely try the spell it outs next week though and see where we get. :)

35559 Oh okay! Well we can try for whatever we can do. :)
Sep 22, 2019 03:42PM

35559 Yay! We finished Flowers!

Sarah - do you want to take next week off and see if you still want to participate? I read a ton so you don’t need to, if you need the time. Though I think everyone is required to read to get full points? Kerri - is that correct? Do what you need to do Sarah - there are people who still want to join a team too, I think, so don’t feel like you have to for us!

Book:
Qualification: Author first name begins with "L"
Rating: 3 stars
Review: It's YA supernatural fiction, y'all. I feel lik it would've been much better had she or her friend had actually called out the guys for being super creepy and possesive. Like maybe just once "Hey dudes, I don't belong to anyone but myself, but thanks". But the romance piece, I know is juvenile, but I still think that it then, in turn, teaches young adults/teens/middle graders that certain things in relationships are okay. Anyway, the story itself is fun and the writing isn't bad. Would've received aother star had they just once acknolwedged the above.

35559 I can read for “L” now too

Book: Wonderblood by Julia Whicker
Qualification: Title starts with “W”
Rating: 3 stars
Review:
Well this was....odd it wasn’t bad. I enjoyed it while listening. But the ending felt abrupt to me. And there were definitely a few content warning moments. Nothing that went so far to make me put it down though. More like hints of things. Anyway, interesting but not te best ever.

35559 Oh and Zuza, if you want to participate in the Monthly discussion for Recursion then we could get some Regenration points too! But no pressure. :)

35559 Selection Post for W:

Book: Wonderblood Wonderblood by Julia Whicker
Qualification: Title begins with W
Sep 18, 2019 05:53PM

35559 Awesome!!

I finished F, and E. I will start on W now and if Sarah can't do L, I'll see if I can fit it in before they call it!

(small little) Completion Post x 2

Book: The Fire The Fire (The Eight, #2) by Katherine Neville

Book: Joy For Beginners Joy for Beginners by Erica Bauermeister
Sep 16, 2019 09:47PM

35559 So I think I can do W and E as well. Hopefully we have enough time! :) So could everyone do one book each you think? L, O, and R? Or if there’s a W or E that you’re itching to read let me know. I have a bunch to choose from right now. My holds at the library are coming in all at once!

35559 Just found this:

HINT: As group 3 is so broad, you’d only get into group 3 if you had finished 1 or 2 (or decided not to do one or both of them).

So as long as we don’t do Safezones 1 and 2, we are good.
Sep 15, 2019 05:14PM

35559 Okay I figured I would go ahead and find a word that works with a book I just finished outside of this group and the one I just started. So I started spelling out FLOWERS. I have F and S covered. Can anyone else add in their round 1 books to that or read a book that works for L-O-W-E-R?
Sep 15, 2019 05:06PM

35559 Thanks Moderators!

Team - I’m thinking we do safezone books and apply whatever we’ve been working to finish towards those, if possible, since they are worth more points anyway. What do y’all think?
