Chapters 51-71
First let me just saw.... DO THESE PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTAND HOW SECURITY CAMERAS WORK?! If I was trying to plan a revolution OR my death had been faked and I didn't want to be found....I would HIDE my face!! I mean I know that Winter used her ID to access the wolves....but maybe she should then LEAVE the area and hide better? I just think that it's almost ridiculous how bad these characters are at hiding from Levana when they have the WHOLE MOON on which to hide.
Ok rant over.
18. Adri and Pearl – do you think they are going to survive Levana? Will Kai be able to send the Earthens home before the rebellion reaches Artemesia or will they be part of the fight?
I can't decide if they will survive. I'm kind of hoping their part is over, but I'm guessing not. Maybe later if Cinder succeeds she will have to decide their fate and show how she is not cruel and will let them go free. I think Kai will trying to send the Earthens home rather than have them fight, but I'm worried they may be innocent casualties. The Earthens are shown to be kind of wimpy in this story (except for our MCs of course).
19. I might be dating myself here, but my vision of cyborgs is the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman. Cyborgs, if they can't swim, shouldn't be broken by a dip in a pool. Cinder seems a bit fragile for a part machine human. She can't even run super fast. Have you read much cyborg fiction and if so does Cinder seem typical?
I've never read / seen anything else about cyborgs so I am kind of taking everything here as the author's vision of how the cyborgs work. Also it seems like Cinder is a special case (not many cyborgs around) so she can have any unique train the author wants. I think she would be too invincible for it to be interesting if she could survive all those things....there is definitely some added drama here.
20. This section of the book has our merry band of rebels separated into smaller groups. This allows the author to focus on a different character during each chapter. Do you enjoy this attention or would you rather seem the team all back together?
I think I like them all in separate groups. It seems more "realistic" that they would all try to accomplish different things, rather than have ALL of them sneaking around a lab or the palace. less people = more easy to hide and getting more things done.
21. Winter's story seems to follow her original fairy tale closer than the others. She has contracted letumosis from a poisoned apple given to her by a glamoured queen. Now she is going to lie in state in a glass coffin while her wolves gather around her. Will Jacin survive to kiss her awake? Do you think another character has a more exact fairy tale arc?
I think the other character who has a similar fairy tale arc is Cinder. She is the unwanted step daughter / sister who wants to go to the ball and somehow gets a way in....falls in love with the prince BUT he doesn't know her dark secret. As for Winter, I really hope Jacin will save her, but I wonder if someone else will have to. Jacin has already kind of saved her with a kiss already.
22. Garan's updates on Iko, were they his secret inventions? Does she hold Winter's cure?
Yes!!! I bet Iko has the key. I was hoping / suspecting that Iko would have a very very pivotal role!
23. Wolf is now a wolf. Will this be the end of the Scarlet/Wolf romance? Or is a genetically modified animal no different from a cyborg or android when it comes to love with a human? Ugh I am so upset by this. Wolf is one of my favorites and he and Scarlet are both in mortal peril. I am afraid they will not be able to survive these things. I'm seeing a link to Hunger Games here...Wolf is being tricked into thinking Scarlet hates him and he seems to want to kill her. I hope he can overcome this.
24. Cress in the final chapter (71) is a perfect example of why I don't tend to read YA. These characters might act older than their age, but when it comes to stupid misunderstandings about romance, they always revert to age 15. Cress is a shell, she can't be glamoured but she knows that Thorne can. They are undercover in the middle of a dangerous situation and she actually stops to pick a fight about him being “in love” with some woman he spent 30 seconds with. I'm assuming most people weren't as bothered by this stupidity as I was but I honestly finished reading my section 4 days ago and haven't picked it up to finish it since. I don't care. I've really enjoyed the series to this point but now I am only annoyed by it. Do you think the romance adds to the book? Does a childish reaction not bother you when it is basically a children's book? Do you ever stop reading a book because one little thing bothers you so much?
I AGREE. And it takes up SO MUCH of the story, her being sad and wondering if Thorn loves her and yada yada (ditto with Winter). It's pretty typical of these types of books for people to be in mortal danger and stop and think about their love life (basically in every YA series I've read this happens and it always annoys me). I know this book is far from realistic...but come on! I really like the dynamic relationship between Scarlet and Wolf, but other than that I could have done without the romance. We would save 400 pages if characters were pining after each other or mad about some mis-understanding (I'm having flash-backs of the "we were on a break" drama in Friends. HELLO maybe just talk to each other instead of flashing moody looks?) I am not too bothered with it here, but only because I have come to expect it.

Q11. Wolf and Scarlet are reunited! How do you like the couple compared to the others? Are you glad they are reunited fairly quickly? Yay! I love them together and it was sad reading about poor Scarlet in a cage and Wolf so lonely. It's interesting how every couple is torn apart, but always seem to find their way back..
Q12. I was surprised to see Linh Pearl back in the story. Why do you think that she was taken?. I was too. Yuck! I wonder what they will do with her. It's not like Cinder has an emotional attachment to them. Maybe Levana doesn't know that. Or maybe they were taken because they are Kai's citizens?
Q13. What did you think about Cinder's message to Luna? Do you think that it will start the revolution that she wants? Do you think it was wise for Cinder to go out into the crowds during the speech? I thought it was ok, but I was hoping for something more powerful. Also it's too bad she can't use her glamor on the video so people could see she really WAS Chanery's daughter. I just don't know if it was enough to start a revolution. I do not think it was good for her to go out....that's how they found her!
Q14. Do you think that Cinder will see Kai's speech as a betrayal, or will she know that he's being controlled into saying such things? She will definitely know he's being controlled.
Q15. Do you think Cinder was foolish to not think that there wouldn't be consequences to her speech? Were you saddened by the deaths of those who hid Cinder and her friends? I think she knew there would be consequences, but thought they would have more time to enact a plan. I think it was DUMB of her to go out and expose her face to the cameras because she knows Levana is looking for her. I was so sad about the people who died because of it.
Q16. There's a new ally. Were you surprised by Kinney's actions? I loved Ico during this book, she wa so funny and sassy. What do you think of her so far? I was surprised and I hope Kinney is a new true ally. I also really like Ico and hope she has a big role in the revolution because she is struggling with feelings of uselessness.
Q17. What did you think of Kai's actions during the wedding? Were you surprised that the wedding still took place during all that was going on? What do you think will happen to Kai now, after his actions at the wedding? I was surprised that Levana didn't control him more during the wedding and let him cut her? And no one reacted? That was strange. I think Levana was planning to kill him later anyway so she will probably just continue with that plan.

Q6. Are you enjoying the story so far?
Yes! I have missed these characters so much. Things look desperate and complicated....I can't wait to continue.
Q7. Winter saw the blood on the walls; in the ship with the harness trying to killer her. They are her “nightmares” or “hallucinations”. Why do you think she sees these?
I think she sees these because her father was murdered and she was forced to cut herself until she bled by her step-mother. Or it is some kind of fore-shadowing for the fate of the palace. Maybe there will be a very bloody battle there.
Q8. Cinder is having a difficult time in her glamor controlling/protecting her friends through her powers. She doesn’t want to make it seem like a betrayal or like Queen Levana. She is learning how to balance control and giving their freedom of thought. Do you think she will have to use one of her friends breaking that boundary for the cause?
I think she will definitely have to control her friends in order to protect them, but I really can't imagine her using one of them to defend herself the way Levana did without question. I hope not at least, that would make me so sad. However, someone may sacrifice them self willingly.
Q9. Queen Levana is jealous of Winter and Cinder. She is testing Jacin’s loyalty by making him perform a task. I know I know where she is coming from by having read Fairest. Have you read Fairest? Do you think Queen Levana is out of character with this? Did you expect what Jacin did?
I loved Fairest and it gave a real insight into Levana's character. I also kind of expected what Jacin did. I expected him to try and save her and it makes sense to fake her death. I was surprised Levana accepted it so easily without any proof.
Q10. Winter and Scarlet are in the ship and on their way, what do you think Queen Levana will do once she finds out? How long do you think it will take her to find out? What will become of Jacin?
I think she will find out quickly enough. Especially since some people saw Winter escaping, but maybe they will be loyal and not turn her in. I don't think Jacin will be killed, but I think he will get into trouble trying to help Winter and Cinder.

Discussion Questions for Chapters 1-15
1. What did you think of the preceding books? (i.e. Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, Fairest) I love the humor that is woven into these stories. I especially enjoy Iko's character. Excerpt from chapter 11: "I would love to give you a good-bye kiss, Captain, but that lingering embrace from His Majesty may have fried a few wires, and I'm afraid a kiss from you would melt my central processor." Do you have any favorite characters from The Lunar Chronicles?
Uhh I loved them. I read Cinder because it was recommended to me and I thought, eh it looks like a quick read. I was IMMEDIATELY sucked in and the series hasn't let me go since. I have been very un=patiently awaiting this book to be released. I agree, the humor is one of the very best things about it!
2. What are your thoughts on Winter's character so far?
Hmmm. I can't decide really. I'm worried she is going to do something rash and disrupt the crew's chances of succeeding in their plan. And maybe will not want to give up the thrown? I'm hoping that's not true, but she is such a wild card here.
3. We've been introduced to many relationships throughout the series: Cinder and Kai, Scarlet and Wolf, Cress and Thorne and now Winter and Jacin. Do you have a favorite couple?
Either Scarlet and Wolf (love him) or Cinder and Kai because they have only recently been able to be united and they have been through so much. I really like Thorne, but can't figure out what the heck his feelings are.
4. In chapter 13 we see a sweet moment between Winter and some local children. They create a crown made of flowers for the princess. Jacin reacts with anger and snatches the crown from Winter's head while yelling at the children. Why do you think he acts this way?
I think he is worried about her safety over everything. He thinks they may be watched and doesn't want the queen to use her evil ways to hurt Winter. But I really liked this scene up until that point.
5. Kai is back in the Commonwealth and plans to proceed with the alliance he previously made with Queen Levana. He convinces Levana to hold the wedding on Luna. What do you think Kai and the rest of the Rampion crew have up their sleeves?
I am surprised that anyone believed that after ALL they went through to capture him....the crew would just drop him off again at home? I'm not sure what the plan is, but maybe similar to the last one....Cinder revealing herself as Princess at the wedding? Definitely not going to be that easy.

OOH OOH yes please! :0:)

Ok this might be a streeeeeeeeetch but, in the book i just finished Crops and Robbers the main character's mother is arrested for a crime she didn't commit. She has 2 weeks until she goes to court so the MC has a deadline to investigate and find the real murderer.
