The scene with Levana, Cinder, and Thorne in the throne room was pretty intense. What did you think about Levana's revelations about Cinder's mother Channary. If you've read Fairest you already know about Channary, but did you feel any sympathy for Levana at this point?
I feel like Cinder, in that I feel flashes of sympathy for Levana and have to sit there and remind myself of all of the horrible things she's done. I read Fairest so I knew about the dynamic between Channary and Levanna, but I definitely thought she killed her sister.
Do you believe that Levana actually "does everything for Luna" like she said? Or is she just seeking love and admiration?
I think her number one motivation is to be loved, since her family didn't love her and her sister tortured her and made her ugly. I do think her original motivation was to help Luna and she saw a way of bringing Luna some serious power. But as she gained power she got addicted to all the adoration (forced or otherwise). She did have a complicated scheme with the disease/antidote and the intense wolf soldier program so I think she was acting in her country's best interest (IHHO)/
Did anyone else want to SCREAM at Cinder when she accepted Levana's surrender? How could she think that it would be that easy? Any did anyone think that she was truly dead and that the ending would be that both Levana and Cinder were killed to save Luna? And how frustrated were you when they didn't tell us what happened to her right away in the next chapter?!
YES! I knew there was no way Levana would just give up her thrown so she could be beautiful again. She worked too hard and killed too many people to just give it up like that. She was completely assured of her power and conceited enough to think she would never lose the thrown. I was also frustrated when we didn't IMMEDIATELY see what happened to Cinder, but I loved the interaction between Wolf and Scarlet. When Levana and Cinder were both holding guns I thought maybe the ending would be they each killed each other and it was the end to that blood line. So happy that's not the case.
Poor Winter! What do you think about her condition. Will she get better now that she's used her gift? Or worse? Is there any real hope for Jacin and Winter? And can Winter really be a good ambassador?
I have some serious hope that she can get better. Since she is signing up to try the new device to block the Lunar gift, maybe it will give her the comfort she needs. I know Jacin will be there by her side and with his help she may get better and they may be happy together. If she can stop seeing visions and howling, she may be a fine ambassador.
Were you surprised that the whole Rampiant group survived (all the "good" MCs we knew)?
I was definitely surprised (in a good way) that everyone survived. All the bad guys are gone and the good guys stand. Maybe too corny but after these 4 intense books I am happy. I was afraid someone (probably Thorn or Scarlet or Winter) would die and they would be the martyr to remind people what they fought for.
Do you think the Lunar citizens (mainly the rich ones) will accept the new changes? As we saw from those in the throne room and throughout the palace during the coronation, they seem to like torturing people with their gifts and didn't seem to want any kind of fair laws for people.
I think some will be very resistant. The party guests obviously despised non-Lunars and thought it was their right to use their "gift" to whatever advantage they wanted. I hope Cinder can come up with a plan to quell them because I'm sure they will be very upset. Especially if she gives up the monarchy! I am a little worried about the fact that another crazy person who just wants power will be elected. It's not only Levana who would do that, it's clear there are other Lunars who feel the same way.
"And they all lived happily to the end of their days" What do you think about the ending? Why do you think Cinder really wants to give up her thrown? Do you think they will all be happy together on the ship again? Will all the couples survive?
As I said, I am a sucker for a happy ending and these characters truly deserve it. I wish there was more tidying up, but I'm, glad we got to see all the MCs at the end and they all look like their on their ways to some recovery and happiness. It's been a LONG road and I will miss them. However, I don't understand how the Cinder/Kai thing will work out....still a little confused by that.
Oh and who was your favorite character in the series?
Okay this is a hard one for me....but I think Thorn for his sense of humor / sense of cockiness / how much he has grown. Or Scarlet because she is super strong and accepting and I just loved following her story.

Chapters 72-84
25. Jacin seems to completely lose control when he finds out Winter is ill. Given how little emotion he shows usually do you like this side of him? What do you think about his relationship and feelings for Winter? He describes her as "completely unattainable" so never tells her how he feels. What will it take for him to make a move?
I do like seeing this side of him, because I felt so bad for Winter when all she wanted from him was a smile or a kind word and he had to be so stoic. She's not really totally unattainable now....since she is presumed dead he can probably marry her if they stay in hiding. I think he will have to save her and tell her how he fells before ITS TOO LATE. They are in mortal danger so get out your feelings now!
26. "Scars, scars. She was coming to have so many. She wondered if it was wrong to be proud of them."Everyone else on Luna seems to value beauty above all else but Winter is happy to discover she could be scarred from the disease. Why do you think this is?
I think her parents were kind people and she inherited it from them. She wasn't born into royalty or riches and she doesn't want power or to make people suffer. She doesn't only about herself like the others. Also I wonder if since her parents have died she feels like the scars will show she is trying to make them proud of her.
26. Cinder's character changes a lot over the course of this book (and series) from a downtrodden, part cyborg mechanic to a fairly believable and powerful leader of an army and face of a rebellion. Do you like how her character has developed? I'm a little worried she's going to the dark side from using her power so much. She seems increasingly ok with controlling those around her, she misses the protection of her cyborg brain, she urges the rebellion to kill (and doesn't hesitate herself) and seems willing to sacrifice her friends to win the war. Is she going too far and becoming like Levana or does the fact she's doing it for good reasons make it ok? Win or lose, what will she do when it's over?
I like the way she is developing...able to act and make decisions and be forceful and bold. However, I am also worried that the pull of power is changer her and might for the worse. Will she be okay with sacrificing people just to keep herself safe? Right now it seems as if the citizens want to fight for themselves, but when will it become Cinder's responsibility to save them and not endanger them anyway. I think she will not become like Levana and hopefully the war and saccrifices will show her she needs to be a merciful and kind ruler if she wins.
27. Were you surprised that Queen Levana went out to meet Cinder herself or did you think she would do as her advisors suggested and hide behind others? Do you think this was courage and determination to hold on to her crown, love for her kingdom, or over confidence and the belief that she's so powerful no one can touch her? Her control and power is destroyed when the video plays and she runs away. Do you think she's defeated or will she fight back?
I think Levana is so powerful that she figured she could put down the rebellion immediately (which she ALMOST did) and show the rest of her citizens that she is someone to be feared. I think love for her CROWN (not the people) and over confidence cause her to. Also she must be so fed up of Cinder and she probably wanted to see her dead with her own eyes once and for all. She will definitely fight back until the last.
29. "You have always been dangerous. But you're my alpha and I'm yours and that's not going to change because they gave you a new jawline". Are you surprised by Scarlett's immediate acceptance of Wolf's new look and her trust in him? I kind of expected a little hesitation or the odd doubt but there seems to be none. What did you think of their reunion?
I love them. They are my favorite couple by far and I am so glad they are reunited. I was not surprised by Scarlet's reaction or Wolf's because they have a way more intense and strong bond than anyone else in this book (Except maybe Iko and Cinder). She has already accepted his differences and this is just more of that. And at this point they could all die in a second, so she might as well try and act normal with him incase they don't make it.
30. We're nearing the end now, do you think everyone will get their happily ever after or do you think there will be a sacrifice and if so what or who?
Well it is a play on various fairy-tales....so I am expected a happy ending. I think someone in the group will die and I am worried about who it is. I just want to see what happens!!
