35559 The cards make sooo much more sense, now! I'm glad I wasn't the only one that looked at the posts in the thread and was like "Huh?" I think these are doable!

35559 I like the fourth one! She looks like she could take on a whole village.

35559 Just checking in! I haven't been on much as my body decided to rebel and get sick when it's 80 degrees outside... I've read through the ETV rules and it currently makes sense, lol. I'm most curious about how exactly the tournament is going to work, though I suppose we'll get more details about that later. It should be fun, though! Here's to finishing WOBBLE with a bang :)

35559 Are the anagrams of book related things or any random phrase/word?

35559 I'm reading Siege and Storm, which is a second book in a series. Not sure how easy Storm is to find at the beginning of a title, though =\

35559 Finished The Last Olympian for the "war book" bonus last night! Well... early this morning, haha. I'll look to see if I have anything that will cover one of our other bonuses.

35559 I think using #2 is a good idea. Or we could use two of the others to help with the three title relays we have currently. I would hope our luck wouldn't be bad enough to get *another* relay if we take advantage of #2, but you never know.

35559 I'm about to read The Last Olympian (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #5) by Rick Riordan , which could work for the weapon on the cover (the main character is holding a sword) or possibly the book about war (there's a war between the Titans and the Gods of Olympus).

35559 Question! I seem to recall that rereads are okay for WOBBLE as long as it's been over six months since you last read the book, right? I ask because I just reread A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for one of the BOMs this month, which I last read in Nov 2015. It would cover our "MC is a knight" bonus labor (if that hasn't already been covered) if so.
35559 Day 3 DQs - The Mystery Knight

14. What did you think of the book? My favourite story was The Mystery Knight - what was your favourite?

I really enjoyed this book. I think my favorite story remains the first one out of all of them, though The Mystery Knight is my second favorite.

15. I missed the different viewpoints you get in the Game of Thrones books. I would really have liked to know more about Egg, his thoughts and the things he gets up to when he's not with Dunk. Would you have liked to know more about Egg or any of the other characters?

I liked sticking with one point of view. It was kind of refreshing and I really liked Dunk, so it worked for me.

16. At times I got frustrated with Dunk and the fact he wouldn't listen to Egg about his chances against the other knights. He seemed overconfident considering he didn't have much experience. I also felt that this didn't fit in with his usual view of himself. What do you think about his attitude to the tournament?

I think it was a matter of him psyching himself up. He knew he was inexperienced, so the only other thing he could have going for him is bravado. Didn't really work out that well, but Dunk never claimed to be the smartest cookie. I think there was a little bit of a pride thing, as well.

17. I liked that Dunk fit the story's title with the mysterious name he gave for the tournament but that then The Fiddler's true identity was revealed to serious consequences for several of the characters. Did you guess the true identity of The Fiddler?

Not at all. That one came out of left field for me.

18. Do you think Bloodraven was right to keep Daemon captive rather than having him executed?

Probably. I don't see many benefits in killing him, other than to get him out of his hair. That's not a good enough reason if you think about all the people who would rally behind their dead martyr.

19. What do you think the future holds for Dunk? Do you think Daemon's dreams of seeing Dunk dressed as a Whitecloak will come true?

Having read the ASOIAF series (and lots of related websites), I'm going to bow out of this question.

35559 I finished up Grave Sight for my second book! I have slowed down a lot now that I'm back at work, sheesh. I'll look through the bonuses to see if I have anything that might fit.

35559 Grave Sight (Harper Connelly, #1) by Charlaine Harris
Grave Sight by Charlaine Harris

Pages: 293

How it fits: Labor 10, Quest 3 - it is listed as paranormal romance on it's main page
35559 Day 2 - September 13
Discussion Questions - The Sworn Sword

6. What do you think of the practise of putting criminals in crow cages? Why do you think this might be used as a punishment?

I think it's pretty barbaric, but I'm also not a huge fan of our modern death penalty, sooooo.... I'm sure it was used as a deterrent for other criminals. Hey, if we catch you committing a crime, crows will more than likely peck your eyes out after you slowly starve to death! Though they may not wait til you're dead. I mean, I know that would make *me* think twice.

7. What did you think of Sir Bennis? Did your opinion of him change from the beginning to the end of the story?

Not a fan and that didn't change one ounce. He was awful...

8. How did you find this story compared to the first? Did you like it as much or more?

I think I enjoyed the first story more, though I still liked this one, as well. I felt like the first story had a lot more action and intensity than this story did. Still, it was a good story.

9. I think this story gives us reasonably good insight as to the type of Knight Dunk is? How do you think the story might have differed had Dunk not investigated the empty stream or not stayed after getting the peasant company to leave?

I think hostilities would have boiled on between the neighbors and it would have ended in a much more bloody fashion than it did with Dunk's intervention.

10. What did you think of the way the dispute was sorted. With the duel of sorts in the stream and then a wedding? Did you think Dunk would win the duel? What did you think of Lady Rohan and Ser Eustace being wed?

I always root for Dunk, lol. I really like the guy! Dunk is all "what you see is what you get" and that is rare, especially in the world of GoT. As for the wedding, weirder matches have been made.

11. Do you think Dunk did the right thing revealing Egg's ring to Lady Rohane? Should he have used it sooner?

I would have used it *a lot* sooner, but Dunk has more honor in his little pinky than most people have in their entire bodies. I think he wanted to do as much as he could on his own and only used the ring when he knew that it was the only way.

12. Ser Eustace seems to live mostly in the past talking about what once was and what should have been? Did it surprise you when you found out what side of the Blackfyre rebellion he had been on?

That did surprise me. But, as the current American Presidential election is teaching me, decent people can and will side with someone you personally find despicable. You really never know unless you ask.

13. Do you think we will run across Sir Bennis again in the last story?

Ugh, no.
