I signed up for this one - it's hard for me to resist those BOM points. And I have discovered some books through them that I wouldn't have read otherwise.
Hi! I'm Suzanne and am so excited to get to know all of you. I already feel like this is going to be such a fun team!I live in Idaho and teach math at the university here. I am currently in class with a lot of my students as they are taking a final exam - I'm so proud of them, as they have worked so hard all semester. And...when the semester is over - I'm retiring! I'm looking forward to having more choices about what to do with my time!
I enjoy most genres. Probably during Tower Teams I'll be reading a lot of science fiction and fantasy because I decided I wanted to vote in and attend the Hugo awards at Worldcon. We'll see how that goes...but seemed like a good idea at the time.
Oh and I absolutely love that we have team members from all over the globe. It's wonderful!

I'm sure sorry you are suffering with that foot Sammy! Thanks for spending the time so positively and letting us see you more - and being so helpful!

Game of Thrones makes up for any short ones. This is a great list! And a great idea to do a list with comments. I hope you continue.
Yes! I hate when childhood favorites don't have the same impact when we grow up :(. As a child I never thought of the Narnia books as religious - now I can see that, but knowing about CS Lewis' life I'm ok with what he was trying to do. I tried to read Little Women as an adult and couldn't finish it - but I was just bored - I think I knew the story too well.
I still have an irrational love for the Little House on the Prairie books that I loved as a kid. But now I have a great respect for Ma who had to keep giving up her home!
Sammy - I definitely want to read more Sherlock Holmes books now. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the one!
I checked and he narrates the whole series - I wish I had known. He's really fantastic - his voices, just everything - so so good.
I read
and
. The first two I'd purchased on Audible about 10 years ago. Zoo City was ok - kind of an interesting concept. Sherlock Holmes was really great - that surprised me!I owned The Last Battle in print, but decided to listen to the audio version. I had no idea they were narrated by Patrick Stewart til I recognized his voice. What a treat - he was excellent!!
Tina, I felt the same way about Parable of the Sower - "like" is too simple of a word for such a complex story!Glad to get the recommendation of Fledgling from two of you. Except darn it! For every book I read from my TBR, seems like two books take its place!
I enjoyed the movie more too. I thought that the Mary Poppins in the book was a little bitchy. But maybe it's just because she didn't keep breaking into song :)
just got finished late last night, and then I stayed up all night not happy. Another genocide book like Half of a Yellow Sun - I guess I can see why there were on my list for so long - such a sad topic. I will move on to more cheerful reads probably. But I'm glad I finally read it.

That has been on my list for almost 10 years now! Good job getting it read.
