Cris - that was the perfect entrance! And how wonderful you do genealogy - that seems like a fascinating pursuit.

Ashlee - since The Cartographers isn't officially during the challenge, it doesn't directly get points. Instead of that, it gives an extra opportunity to be chosen to do the daily questions for one of the BOMs that happens during the challenge. For the BOMs that happen during the challenge (starting with the Cat book) - if you read and participate - answer the daily questions at least 3 times - you get 20 extra points plus the regular page points of the book. If you are chosen to write daily questions - you get an additional 20 points on top of that. So BOM points stack up super nicely - plus it's fun discussing books.

Does that make sense? Those "pre" books are a bit confusing. So speak up if you're still wondering anything.

35559 Wow its so wonderful everyone has checked in!

I like planning tasks too. I have a list of things I think I'll be reading May 15-31 - I'll refine it once I'm done with finals.

35559 Yes - really great narrator(s) (Jim Dale and Stephen Fry depending on the part of the world). I'm listening to one of the Outlander books, and its narrator is good as well.

I can't listen to Anne Bishop books being narrated - I suspect the narrator is fine but my eyes work better for those - those "voices in my head" are excellent narrators for some authors.

35559 And travel! I also want to visit all of your home countries/states. Yay for tower teams.

35559 The Bernedoodle is great - my son has a lot of panic attacks, and his old dog passed away last November (she was 12). She was a lovely support to him and always knew when to cuddle him when he needed. Anyway - we got the Bernedoodle puppy in December - and just this morning my son told me he had a bad night and the pup climbed up on him and cuddled him all night - and I could see him doing the same this morning. It's amazing how dogs really sense when they are needed. I can pretty much look at Boo and know how Jakob is doing :)

Haha and sorry - dogs and books - both my passions in this same thread!

35559 Just pick one with a good narrator - a bad one can ruin a book :)

We have an English Mastiff, a Golden Retriever, and a Bernedoodle. The mastiff is mine - not a breed I would have picked, but oh are we bonded. When I have evening classes, he will refuse to eat about half of the time, then take me to his bowl of food when I get home late so that *I* can feed it to him. I'm very well trained.

35559 Welcome Zuza.

I agree about audiobooks - they really open up the reading world.

35559 You for sure don't talk to much Alyana! I love when teams chat.

And I am now intrigued about Ted Lasso. I've watched almost nothing for the past 10 years or so when I've been teaching- so I have lots of catching up to do.

35559 Oh thank you! That's great to know - both the map and that it's good
35559 I'm on the DQ list already, but should now add that I'm on team Electra.

I signed up for this one - it's hard for me to resist those BOM points. And I have discovered some books through them that I wouldn't have read otherwise.

35559 Hi! I'm Suzanne and am so excited to get to know all of you. I already feel like this is going to be such a fun team!

I live in Idaho and teach math at the university here. I am currently in class with a lot of my students as they are taking a final exam - I'm so proud of them, as they have worked so hard all semester. And...when the semester is over - I'm retiring! I'm looking forward to having more choices about what to do with my time!

I enjoy most genres. Probably during Tower Teams I'll be reading a lot of science fiction and fantasy because I decided I wanted to vote in and attend the Hugo awards at Worldcon. We'll see how that goes...but seemed like a good idea at the time.

Oh and I absolutely love that we have team members from all over the globe. It's wonderful!

Oooh - as a muse - eternal thanks really means something. Have a great time Lisa!

35559 I'm sure sorry you are suffering with that foot Sammy! Thanks for spending the time so positively and letting us see you more - and being so helpful!
35559 I'm in and can do DQs
35559 Game of Thrones makes up for any short ones. This is a great list! And a great idea to do a list with comments. I hope you continue.
