Sounds like this has been a tough few weeks for quite a few of us!.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Just a heads up that its a new week's round of warships - so you can head over to the planning thread in the mythics group and see if there is a genre you want to read for (finished by next Friday). Our team has 4 spots (for the week) left.

Wow what a great milestone getting that PhD presentation done. Congratulations!

I'm finally back from my Dad's house. I read maybe 1 chapter the whole time I was there - was trying to be present and helpful to people. I did finish an audio on my drive home, and hopefully more will be finished at some point. I'm excited to look at what's happening on the new mini!

One of my tires had a total blowout on the drive home - scared me a LOT but other than being frightened. So instead of getting home at 10 p.m. I got home about 3 a.m. So still getting sorted. But it's good to be home!

oh good I didn't see that!. I'll go say something in my post. urg I hate being only on my phone. I'll be home Thursday

I'm actually leaving in about 10 minutes to go to my Dads for a few days. I'll have my phone and will check in when I can, but won't be much help til I get back - sorry!

I pushed yesterday to finish my books, so at least those are done.

Dead Ringer is a fast read. I'm glad you found it Christina! And I'm glad you can read it Anna.

We finished Cookie Monster and got another Cerberus.

I'm moving my instrument on cover book to Cerberus since it fits both missing prompts. And I will TRY to get it finished.

But first I'm going to read . I found it on Scribd. So if anyone else has access to Scribd - it'd also finish off the 2nd dragon.

I'm going to attempt to read a bunch today - I likely won't be able to read a lot for the several days following (although I can always hope). It's nice having a good excuse to read anyway.

I put in Breathless (mountains in background) - I was holding off finishing since I wasn't sure we could finish that monster - but since partial credit works, I'll go ahead and finish it - that drives me less batty.

And Double Fudge Brownie Murder, which I'd started last last month (after the start of monsters) and then got sidetracked when I was trying to read for buddy reads and/or fit actual monster tasks.

If someone wants to / reads something different for those tasks just replace my books - it won't hurt my feelings.

Ha - I'm glad we got some Cookie Monster goodness. I'm ok with even the thought of cookies.

That's nice about partial credit too!

I'll take a look at what I have/if there is anything we need.

I'm 99% sure we can put our own words in. I'm listening to a book called Breathless that might be good for a story prompt. I may hold off on finishing it until the change of minis (unless we end up needing it for a monster - it DOES have mountains on the cover.)

We got another Sphinx. We can't seem to score one of the new monsters :(

Anyway - Clockwork Boys does also fit #1,2,5 for Sphinx. But Red Pyramid fits 2,5, So I'm leaving Clockwork where it is for now, in case a riddle or mountain fit has the right page # range.

Oh wow great question. I was assuming we just use the titles in the story - but now I'm not 100% sure - that wording in the challenge could go either way! I'll see if that has been addressed in the captains Q&A and if not, I'll ask.

Yes, I'll have Clockwork Boys done tonight.

I'll be out of town starting Friday for about 5 days - I'll check in on the phone and will get things all reported when I get home. Luckily the new challenge isn't a monster chase so good timing I guess :)

I think we will have a ton of fun with this last mini! we've exceeded my wildest expectations with the monsters!
