I've got to say - I'm agreeing with everything you say. Just reinforcing what you said. :)
True - I re-read those series periodically too. Her Quinn brothers series is one I've re-read multiple times.
Again, I agree with the recent series being disappointments. Totally. A member at one of my group basically said this - all her characters are so perfect and nice - there aren't any flaws on any of these people. And they always do the right thing which he basically said he didn't prefer. (He does read the In Death series, IIRC). As you said, I realized it was true but didn't really bother me. But lately, it does.
For example, in WB, I found both the characters not to have that big a hang-up. Especially the h. Not sure if you'll agree but everything was done in so right way that it was frustrating.
I want to hope it gets better because the In-Death is also getting a little formulaic. Those are like a staple read. Do you read In-Death series?

Midu, how are you? Feeling better? Graduated from khichri yet?
I'm starting the third -
- as well tomorrow - all planned out!

LK - Just curious but do you sleep? You seem to be OL all the time!

Lol! Me, a spy?!! I was just checking up on an old teamie :D
So true! I totally agree. She releases books periodically (you can see 2 In Death + 1 standalone + 1 new trilogy book per year) which is something I like but lately, the books have become more formulaic. Like take the recent books - it's like she's showcasing a different walk of life in each of that one.
Chasing Fire and
The Search being her more recent ones. Both these, I felt the settings and the profession took the centrestage with the characters coming up way short. Really, you can interchange any of the characters from any of the books and you won't see a difference. (Yeah, I've thought about it a little..)
I re-read two of her earlier books recently and I could really see the difference.

Oo, really? I finished WB a couple of days ago and I thought it was a very typical NR. I skimmed a few pages and didn't miss anything at all. A little disappointed. I'll wait for you to finish it!

Welcome, Marguerite! Keep up the great work, Team!

Leslie - I was glad I didn't heed the cover. LIsa Kay's recs haven't gone wrong for me either :)

Currently we are at 69 books and a light click at other teams shows that we are the first. Electric Lime is close at 63. This number can change anytime - the cache might update later.

Wow, TMB has an ebook page count of 160 and it's 308 pages in PB? Amazing!
Thanks for your help, LK!

Good Evening, Team! I just got up - it's raining so lovely up here that I just want to curl up with a book and hot chocolate.
I finished
late yesterday night. I loved it. A really good western. It qualifies for the mini(author name starts with H) and the monthly with 384 pages (1 Point) It also had the worst cover ever -
. Seriously it looks like a bodice ripper. Thankfully, it wasn't.

Have fun, Chris! We'll miss you too :)

Hi LK - just wanted to confirm on both these books. I couldn't find word count in smashwords.
- Children's book with cute drawings beginning of each chapter. I have the hardcover version and I can confirm it as 247 pages but I don't know if that's acceptable for this challenge.
- GR's ebook version says 160 pages (a little uneasy) but paperback is 300+ pages. I have the ebook version and I can't seem to find the word count.
Thanks for your help, Lisa Kay!

I love the Weather Warden series too! I inhaled the whole series in a couple of days - and this was just before the last book in the series came out. I was glad though cos the author wrote Cliff-Hanger ending in all her books IIRC. Just a warning. Though, I have to say, the librarian from where I borrowed the book was obliging enough to keep aside the books for me (they had multiple copies).
My next update: I finished:
- Middle Grade book but with really cute drawing beginning of the chapter. A little simple (as intended for the audience) but one I enjoyed nonetheless. Perhaps a little less than I expected though. 247 pages for the monthly and the title starts with T fitting the mini. (It is Thursday afternoon where I am)
- Cute, easy read. Finished within a couple of hours and now my GR challenge is telling me what a great work I'm doing. Happy! So, the ebook version says 160 but MMPB says 300+. I'm going to verify it. It fits the Mini as well with title starting with T.

Ok - GR was mis-behaving today morning for me. Here goes another try.
Congrats, Kristin & Chris!!
I finished
- didn't find it as creepy as Leslie but enjoyed it very much all the same. Will definitely be picking up the next book. 276++ pages
Also managed to finish
today - Loved it. I liked this much better than the previous one. JJ is still rocking. 276++ pages
Reading
and maybe pick either
or
next

Steven, didn't mean to come off that way, Sorry! I just answered as how I would when you are talking in RL :( Speculating right along with ya..

If that is the case, then they wouldn't allow books less than 160 pages for the RaT. But we can read book <160, just that it won't count for the main challenge.
So the graphic novels question will be answered by Sonia.

No,Marguerite. It'll be one theme for the whole team.

Yay! Way to go, team! Awesome work.
So my latest update - I finished:
- 1170+ pages and mostly blue and white cover. Should count for the mini and get me a paltry 1 point for the monthly. But I did a victory dance once I completed it late last night. It feels like an achievement!
- 400+ pages. Does it count for the mini? This was a mediocre installed from NR. I usually look forward to her standalones but this disappointed me. It was very usual and the setting, dialogues, characters - EVERYTHING seemed very familiar. Very disappointed :(

It's about 9:35 here at the time of posting - so Monday Morning for me.
I need to check my bookshelf. I remember I finished some 2 books but I have to verify.

HI ladies! Awesome! We are doing so GREAT.
Leslie - Happy Birthday to your daughter. Both of you are looking so good.
I am so envious of all of you. I had to LEAVE behind all my books when I shifted to Singapore. There was a weight limit and believe me, I tried like heck. But hubby and the mothers found it out :( I have one library just 10 mins walk from my home and I'm visiting it nearly everyday. I miss my bookshelf.
