35559 I finished Hello, Darkness by Sandra Brown and Calculated In Death (In Death, #36) by J.D. Robb . Both will count for the March for Mystery, In Like a Lion and Captain's challenges.
35559 Leslie - it's finish the book between March 1 & 26 for the mystery as well

I did Outlander as a BR with loads of other people and it was fun. The reason was the host of the BR - she was awesome. Always replied to everything and the discussion was very lively. I've tried picking up the next book Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, #2) by Diana Gabaldon but I have been unsuccessful so far. I'm going to give it another try this month. Hopefully it clicks!
35559 Go, Rebecca, go!!
35559 I just finished Hello, Darkness by Sandra Brown and would be starting Calculated In Death (In Death, #36) by J.D. Robb next.

Leslie - How was Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon ?
35559 I finished Pieces of Sky (Blood Rose, #1) by Kaki Warner which should count towards the mini (In Like a Lion) & the Captain's challenge. I loved it. Definitely will be picking up the next book in series.
35559 To re-iterate Leslie on the number of challenges going on right now:

In Like A Lion Mini Challenge: Wed - Sun; read anything on your TBR and post it here!

Captains Challenge: Feb 27 - March 10; all books read and posted on thread count in the read-off.

March For Mystery Monthly: March 1 - March 26; Any Mystery/Suspense Books (shelved by 10 people) posted in the thread.

Looks like Team D is a happening place. I can't wait to see what the team is going to read!
35559 Dee, unfortunately the monthly ended on Feb 24 due to Feb being a short month.

Deedee wrote: "Leslie wrote: "Thanks, everyone!! We're still waiting to hear from one other school. But this was his number one choice.

@Deedee - unfortunately the romance challenge ended. But if you finished it..."

Awesome job, everyone! You've made the month of February a wonderful one. I'm sure our TBR's are groaning under the weight of new books!

Some select Book Covers:

Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles, #1) by Kami Garcia Wallbanger by Alice Clayton Mariana by Susanna Kearsley Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh The Lord of Illusion (The Elven Lords, #3) by Kathryne Kennedy Crystal Cove (Friday Harbor, #4) by Lisa Kleypas Touch of Power (Healer, #1) by Maria V. Snyder Dança com o Diabo (Predador da Noite, #4) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake (Love By Numbers #1) by Sarah MacLean Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks Rainshadow Road (Friday Harbor, #2) by Lisa Kleypas Rock Chick Revenge (Rock Chick, #5) by Kristen Ashley Playing for Keeps (A Neighbor from Hell, #1) by R.L. Mathewson
35559 I finished The One That Got Away by Kelly Hunter last night. I can see sky so it should qualify for the mini and the monthly too, I loved this book! I liked Logan and Evie - though I do think this book would have been served better by a longer length. And this is one book where the author should have shown the bedroom. Unfortunately she did not.
35559 Melissa - I just finished Highlander. It was as you ladies said - PNR lite. I liked it okay; I was not that crazy about it. Adrienne was irritating most of the times. Hawk was ok and thankfully he didn't become an alpha-hole. Since I can't read series out-of-order, I'm planning to read till book #3 at least before deciding anything. Thanks for the push to read this series! I'm glad I did :)

35559 Congrats, Sashana! That is awesome!!
35559 Welcome Marissa!

I couldn't update for a while since I didn't have GR access that much. Right now, I'm reading World War Z An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks and Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander, #1) by Karen Marie Moning (Yes, I've taken the leap finally!). I don't think either of them qualify for the mini but the KMM would qualify for the monthly.
35559 Um, OK so the Stephie Plum series is not Romance? I though chick-lit-y romance?

@Leslie - Oh, I have but honestly, this series is not as bad as they say. LK could do way better, If you ask me. But I'm glad she's experimenting out ;)
35559 @Katie - I started re-reading Fushigi Yûgi: The Mysterious Play, Vol. 1 - Priestess for a challenge and then proceeded till 8. I also. I have GetBackers, Volume 1 also (scanlations just finished). Planning to start Berserk, Vol. 1 next mostly once GB is done. About 30 volumes to go :P

Ah, One Piece is just becoming too epic for my taste. 60++ volumes is just too intimidating. I need fortifications. Have you read any other manga?

Katie wrote: "Vi, wondering which manga you just devoured? Right now I'm reading Spice & Wolf and just starting the epic journey that is One Piece."
35559 I spent the whole day reading manga - gobbled up 8 which unfortunately can't be used for this challenge. Back to regular scheduled reading from tomorrow

@Leslie - I'm thinking there will be loads of people loving that book. I think I'm in the minority when it comes to Crystal Cove. I loved that first book (Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor) but sadly the books after that aren't just as good.

Great to hear Darkhouse works. I'll let you all know how it is.
35559 Great, Alley! I'm definitely reading that book this month. I'll post it once I'm done.
35559 I finished for the monthly:

What I Didn't Say by Keary Taylor - It was an OK YA read. The male MC loses his vocal cords when he's in a drunken road accident. It was refreshing to see a story without any angst after such a big incident. He coped, with difficultly, but he did. No angst on why this happened. Sadly, though I couldn't connect with the characters. It all seemed too-perfect and goody-goody. Time to take a break from YA.

Angels Fall by Nora Roberts - Comfort Read author for me. This was a book I read looong back and I decided on a whim since my library has it on loan. Loved it. Somehow, NR still works out for me most of the time.

Crystal Cove (Friday Harbor, #4) by Lisa Kleypas - FInished today. Works for the mini as well. (Yes, It's Wednesday here). This book was just OK for me. Not that great. I didn't get why Jason and Justine fell in love. It was taken for granted, sort of. I wish LK would go back to writing straight contemporaries. I loved the Travis series.
35559 What about Silhouettes?

Ex: Darkhouse (Experiment in Terror, #1) by Karina Halle The Shadowy Horses by Susanna Kearsley

Other possible books (apart from the above two):
The Firebird by Susanna Kearsley Beyond the Shadows (Night Angel, #3) by Brent Weeks
