35559 @Rebecca: ;) True. And my library has it as well.

35559 @Rebecca: So I have to commit to *yet* another series? Ummmmm

I'm reading House of Chains (Malazan Book of the Fallen, #4) by Steven Erikson and Golden Trail (The 'Burg, #3) by Kristen Ashley . It's been a while since I read the first two books in the 'Burg series. This book's starting is a little abrupt but it's going on ok. I do wish the people in KA's universe stop whispering so often. I can't remember the last time I whispered when I was at home.

35559 @Katie - Good to know. I'll put it on standby in case we need another black cover. Though the subject makes me a little nervous.

And whatever are sisters for if you cannot "borrow" the books :)

35559 Catherine, you should go to the sister group and from there to the challenges. That way, you can be 100% sure that they did read that book.

35559 I hate doing dishes too. Usually I let hubby do it.

35559 @Katie: Good Morning to you too! You and Rebecca have similar tastes also, huh? That's nice. I've tried to get my bro to read but he is just allergic to it right from a kid. :(

How's Crank (Crank, #1) by Ellen Hopkins ? Is it very intense? It looks interesting though..

35559 @Leslie: I really like your reviews. It sold me on both books Venom & A Bed of Spices. Thanks for push on the Gin Blanco series. It has been on my TBR for so long mainly because I've been ambiguous about an assassin lead. I haven't read the synopsis on A Bed of Spices and I'm planning not to. I'm going by your review :)

@Melissa: Ah, ok. I was intrigued by the whale thingy. I didn't get to read HQN much when I was in the teens. I got intro'd only a few years back actually. I do have some authors who are good esp the Superromance which is like normal contemp romance. And these books work well when I've finished a door stopper.

35559 I didn't know this before I started the series. So I think it's something you'd be bothered if there was short gaps between the books. Or so is my theory. I have to pick up #8 to test though. I do know other fans of the series aren't bothered by this. *Shrugs*

35559 And in the later books, he'll constantly mention how he's an old-fashioned gentleman and doesn't hit girls. It gets annoying real fast.

35559 Re: Dresden Files: Lauren, so true! That part really irritated me in book #7 after which I had to take a break. Of course, it didn't help that I *almost* read the books back-to-back. It's one of the major irritation factor in the series.

35559 I just finished Web of Lies (Elemental Assassin, #2) by Jennifer Estep . It was soooo much better than the first book and made me glad that I had picked it up from the library. Leslie, I think you are right. I am going to get addicted to this. I'm already planning a library trip today. There are obvious flaws like the info dump but I just zip through them. I'm planning to start it on June 1st so that it'll fit category 7, letter V.

Thanks for the recs, Leslie. I think I can get my hands on A Bed of Spices by Barbara Samuel which might be soon-ish read.

35559 I hate to say this but Shosho, you can't say the Dresden files as from my bookshelf. The books have to be read on/after April 12. So they won't work. Sorry.

LK, can I also use Heart of Obsidian from ShoSho's shelf provided that she finishes before/same day as me?

35559 @Leslie - Could you recommend other books by her that you enjoyed? Her backlist is huge that I don't know where to start with.

35559 Good Morning, Leslie!

I finished

The Greek Boss's Bride (Greek Tycoons) (Harlequin Presents, #2631) by Chantelle Shaw - An ok HQN read. There were a few phrases in the book that kept repeating and I wanted to have a drinking game. Plus the heroine was just ok. Typical HQN.

In the Midnight Rain by Barbara Samuel - A really good contemporary romance. I loved it. The characters, the setting and the mystery portion was all great. Works for the monthly challenge with letter I

I have started Web of Lies (Elemental Assassin, #2) by Jennifer Estep and 6 chapters in.

Have a great day, everyone!

35559 Prospective Mauve covers - DO they work?:

Hidden Talents by Jayne Ann Krentz Magic Lost, Trouble Found (Raine Benares #1) by Lisa Shearin

Would any of these two count as black?

House of Chains (Malazan Book of the Fallen, #4) by Steven Erikson Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson

35559 I've been preparing some books for the 7%. Mauve is the color behind us. Since there is no separate listopia for that, I've gone to its closest cousin - Purple. Please note that this list is serve as inspiration for you to choose a book and not all covers are mauve. Please post the cover here if you have any clarification.

1. Purple cover shelf 1
2. Purple Cover Shelf 2
3. Listopia Black Books

Snooping on Mauvelous Thread for the R-a-T, here are confirmed mauve colored books that can be used: (Yes, I need inspiration for this color!)

Club Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, #3) by Charlaine Harris Dangerous by Amanda Quick Phantom Waltz (Kendrick/Coulter/Harrigan, #2) by Catherine Anderson The Duke and I (Bridgertons, #1) by Julia Quinn The Lion's Daughter (Scoundrels, #1) by Loretta Chase Homefront by Kristen Hannah Angel (Maximum Ride, #7) by James Patterson
