35559 Mods, NancyHelen and I are planning to read Prince of Thorns (The Broken Empire, #1) by Mark Lawrence in November. We haven't finalised the exact date. Thanks!

Anybody interested in reading the book could also join us.

35559 I'm loving the chatter in this thread. I've signed up for a couple of BR and the Lies of Locke Lamora BOM too. There are loads of BR happening that I've lost track of most of them. I'll post a list once I'm sure what I've actually signed up for.

35559 I'll join too. I have been meaning to read this author for a while. I'm good with January. Are we looking at a specific date or is it upto each person? I'm asking so I can reserve the book at the library..
35559 Wow! Feels like the thread exploded while I was away. I can do questions for one day, if you need one. I would prefer 4th or 7th.

One week and four days!!!"

I have postponed all my bigger books to read for my challenge. Now all I can see are those chunksters and door stoppers. Lol!!

35559 Thought so. Farah Khan movies are hit and miss for me. OSO was almost a snoozefest for me.

35559 Good luck with your house hunting, jingles!! Glad you had a good time with your friend.

Aw, Karen. I'm disappointed the book didn't work for you. But the cover.. ;)

I finished Suddenly Last Summer (O'Neil Brothers, #2) by Sarah Morgan earlier today. A nice, fluffy romance - I was hoping the book would delve more into the issues of both the MC but they were sort of resolved tamely. Still, Morgan didn't disappoint. I've now started Vanish (Rizzoli & Isles, #5) by Tess Gerritsen ; about 30% in and I didn't even realize. So gripping.

I'm traveling back to India this week so I'll probably won't be checking in much until I settle down. Hopefully, the weather's cool there.

Oh Sanz, that sounds Divine. What movie are you seeing?"

Just a Bollywood flick called Happy New Year. It's what you expect from any B..."

Oh HNY is similar to Om Shanti Om, right? If it is, I'm sitting it out. Are the songs good?

35559 Our day was sort of quiet too - we just went out for some shopping and lunch. Now we are at home resting. I did finish my book The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison - I just loved it! At around the 50% mark, the character growth of the MC reached the peak. The second half was a delight to read - everything starts to fall in place; Maia gains confidence thus he's able to make decisions well. I'm bungling this but honestly, it's damn good. I'm a die-hard romance reader yet I really enjoyed this pure fantasy novel. The author made use of every page - for a standalone, the author didn't skimp of the world. It was complex, lots of issues touched upon and yet it didn't lose sight of the main subject - how the fourth son Maia ascends the throne and his transformation to a proper emperor. I'm so, so glad I finally read this book.

I'm planning to pick up either Vanish (Rizzoli & Isles, #5) by Tess Gerritsen or Suddenly Last Summer (O'Neil Brothers, #2) by Sarah Morgan both for other team challenges.

35559 I like BR bigger books than smaller ones. It gives you motivation to continue and you have fun. A lot of bigger books I've read have been either BR or GR and I love it.

35559 So, I'm still on a Diwali high - spent most of the day at my friend's and had loads of fun. I'm still reading The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison which I can officially say good. It's slow going because the world's a little bit complex and the MC character growth is still in the awkward stage. I really love books that show character growth and this book is awesome in the sense that it has managed a lot of world building in some 200 pages.

I have this weird block wherein if I put the book down in writing I sort of start losing interest in it. I've gotten better at it though - previously, once I start planning, it became like a chore but now I have a bookshelf which I read regularly from.

35559 Outlander is yet another series I'm in the middle of. I need to read Drums of Autumn (Outlander, #4) by Diana Gabaldon . Recently, I've become very very very good at procrastinating big books. I'm really hoping this challenge will let me whittle some down.

35559 Nicole, more cover lust. *drools*

Jingles, have you read any books of Kate Quinn? I read Mistress of Rome (The Empress of Rome, #1) by Kate Quinn supposed to be set in ancient Rome but I didn't enjoy it at all. There was too many violence especially against animals which just about did me in. How's Nefertiti by Michelle Moran ? It's also on my TBR but a little worried that it would blood-thirsty..

35559 Both the covers are soo gorgeous, Karen. Madness me want to read them or buy the book and stare at them.
35559 LOL! Me too, Kristin. And that everybody raves about it. That's pretty much all I know.

35559 Good Morning/Evening Team!! What is everyone reading now?

I'm reading The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison - I've heard raves about it and I'm finally starting it now for another team challenge. So far it's good but it's still too early to say.
