Seriously? I recalled perfectly you grabbing my shoulders and saying "if you don't call the iffin down, I'll have you removed from goodreads"

(and yes, I am editing, you were not that nice)

Just because I had to play driver to a kids birthday party but had to isolate for a bit because I was sporting an allergic conjunctivitis so, evidently, I used that solitude time to plot how to translate quidditch rules & roles into reading tasks, doesn't mean I like to doom us all.

Next you will say that WOBBLE is my fault? Sure, I might have mentioned that "if she can't choose one, we could ask her to choose 5 and run them each for a short period? like 2-3 weeks?". It doesn't make it my fault. And the rest of the mod squad didn't had to agree with me... Just because I said it when the voice of reason (aka Karen) was asleep doesn't mean a thing. Sure.. they were all excited by then.. but she could point out how crazy it was

(I think she did, but the rest ignored her)

Oh lord... you were listening to me when I was maze talking, weren't you?

When Mr Sophie is available, we're doomed.

35559 @Lexi: that was made on purpose... I believe the words spoken to woo Kelly in to developing it were "moving walls maze"

*giggles*

Yep, I can't complain about a single thing the mods throw my way. I probably deserve it ten fold.

35559 I ended up starting Carry On (Simon Snow, #1) by Rainbow Rowell . I remember having a long lost in time ARC, when it did it's second release not sure when, and Karen told me about it.

I also remember not being able to focus much in the story because it felt too much like a Percy Jackson/Harry Potter crossover but a little more chaotic and confusing, and giving up back in chapter 2. This time I'm already at chapter 5... so we'll see.

I also really like Illuminae and while Raven Boys did not quite work for me, I could see you (..."

I read a chapter, I think, when it was a BOM. I then heard so many good things about Scorpio Races, that I got both in one of my book buy sprees.

However, instead of buying all 4 raven boys, like I did with the Splintered series (or the illuminae files) I got only the first. I should read it soon or risk to have mismatched editions - which irks me to no end.

35559 So far, my KU search has returned only under 100 pages tales.

Further research is needed

35559 Awwwww Sophie, that sucks.

Hope you all get well soon

35559 Sonia? Shouldn't be Jenny?

35559 Eni requested The Odyssey told to children from the library to read with the little one. It's text instead of verse, so, it can be used *giggles*

35559 Ugh. Good luck.

I'm still trying to decide which YA to read. I reduced my choices to Splintered (Splintered, #1) by A.G. Howard , The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater or a re-read of The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater .
I also have Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1) by Amie Kaufman , but with the page length and towers almost there... it makes more sense to save it :D

So, any advice?

35559 Well... I can always search for my Lusíadas copy - kinda like Homero's Iliad but telling the story of Portuguese Expansion by Sea. Maybe now that I don't have to study all the meanings behind the verses, I might enjoy it more. Although, I did like studying it. Same for the plays. It was the classic authors from the 70s generation (1870, not 1970) that I hated.

35559 epic poetry?

EPIC?!

But now that you're going there... I think plays or scripts would be a cool one.

35559 I might be tired and grumpy, but I am not an idiot.
Apr 06, 2022 01:45AM

35559 You know what is bugging me? It has been 6 days since the newsletter, and the mods have managed not to post everything about it. No rules, no sign-ups. It's like they actually manage to stick to the plan.
Apr 05, 2022 10:43AM

35559 Yeah. It's annoying.

35559 The amount of books bad tagged on the Best Young Adult Books list is making my teeth ache

From Game of Thrones, to It, passing by Sookie Stackhouse, Kate Daniels and The Name of the Wind... the list is endless

35559 Well, if you're going to point out fair enough reasons and solid arguments, I'm not sure if I want to continue having this conversation

:P

35559 And a better question yet, can we assemble Team Lust again? It would be like the return of the avengers :D
