We’ve chosen some books that aren’t our usual books. That might help to get you out of your reading funk.

I have been busy trying to clear some of my shelves, reading books that have been hanging around too long. I realize now there’s a reason they haven’t been read. Too many are not very good! LOL That will put me in a funk. If I read too many bad books in a row.

3 books in the next few days is ambitious. I don’t think I can do that and I read way too much!

I am still waiting on my book. At the latest I will have it Saturday. I am waiting for the digital book and it will automatically get returned whether the previous borrower is finished or not.

Where will your work trip be, Brooke? If I can be nosy like that.

OK. I didn’t want to hold you two back if you wanted to read Daisy Jones now. I was going to buy until my library got it.

Good news about the other 2 books! Brooke, are you interested in either books?

My library got Daisy Jones so I put myself on the waitlist. I am next in line. It could take a week or two before I get it. If you two already have the book, go ahead and discuss and I will catch up with you both later.

I can read Where the Forest Meets the stars and What the Wind Knows any time. I can buy them since they don’t cost much.

I definitely want to read Where the Forest Meets the Stars! I just added it to my audible wishlist yesterday.

What the Wind Knows is the latest from Amy Harmon and might be a good buddy read.

I can start Daisy Jones whenever you two can.

I agree, Brooke, the book wasn’t the best. I rated it 3 stars. The abuse and eating disorder thing made it less enjoyable to read. I think I know why you feel cheated. I’ll check back later.

I finished. I enjoyed the book in spite of the abuse and eating disorders. LOL I was surprised by the ending. Reading everyone’s spoilers, I think everyone will also be surprised.

I am definitely up for buddy reading Daisy Jones & The Six next. It’s a Reese’s book club selection on Audible. Amazon best book of the month. And I keep seeing it advertised everywhere.

Read through chapter 39. I have changed my mind about my previous theory. Carrie has a lot of secrets too! (view spoiler)[ I suspected earlier she may not have cancer. But what happened to Simon? I thought Carrie might be responsible for his disappearance. But maybe her mysterious stalker did something to Simon? (hide spoiler)] But how does all these storylines about Alex and Carrie fit together? I am very confused right now!

Brooke, Alex’s story is explained fully now. (view spoiler)[ Alex definitely has survivor’s guilt and is trying to slowly kill herself, I think. I really don’t see her eating disorder as a control issue at all. It is strange how she attached herself to Carrie because she slept with Simon. Alex is very motivated by guilt even when she isn’t truly responsible for the things that happen.

So sad about Alex’s mother’s death. Irony! (hide spoiler)]

I read through chapter 17. It is an interesting story. But I find domestic abuse difficult to read about sometimes. I don’t find Alex a reliable narrator. There are things she isn’t saying! The book looks good! It could be kinda wild. And I did see it as a possible BOM.

It was subzero here a few weeks ago. I don’t want to go through that again! No going outside and worrying that the electricity and heat might go out. What a disaster that would have been! We kept the thermostat low so the heater didn’t work too hard.

You are made of tough stuff, Laura! I couldn’t go through subzero temps or wind chill too often!

Glad you enjoyed it too! I suspected pretty much everyone as well. The book uses a device that I have seen in a few books lately. (view spoiler)[dual timelines (hide spoiler)] But I never expect it. It definitely makes it easier to fool the reader.
