I know what it’s like during a challenge. It can get crazy! One reason I skipped for now. I am tearing through my tbr list. But, I keep adding to it too! LOL And reading books that I just stumble upon.
Let me know what you think of the book. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
Spring break already!!

Happy Valentine’s Day, Laura and Brooke!
Hope things get a little less crazy for you, Laura!

One of my favorite things about this book is that with each new chapter, another suspect or seed of doubt is planted. [spoilers removed]"
I finished and agree the best part was how everything was revealed bit by bit. I suspected pretty much every character. But happy to say, I was surprised by the end! (view spoiler)
Can’t wait to read what you thought, Laura!

It’s getting more interesting as the book goes on. I’m up to part 4 chapter 4 now. The book isn’t too long so the time is flying by. Lots of questions and more suspects. (view spoiler)

I agree the book felt like it was set in the past with the arranged marriage, virginity being the most important thing for a woman to give her husband. And I believe in the beginning of the book Franscesca had to put on a corset before attending a party.
I thought the same thing, Brooke, about Sterling being Keaton’s Mother and overhearing all his private moments. It was kinda gross.
And you make a good point about the relationship being toxic. It does set a bad example for young women.

Hopefully, the next book we BR will be better, Laura. When will your library have a copy of The Silent Patient? I should know by Friday or Saturday.

You flew through the book, Laura!
The best part for me too is the action and power struggle between Franscesca’s father and Keaton. The relationship between Francesca and Keaton was tiring until after the engagement party. It was a bit cliche that (view spoiler)
I definitely prefer smart, sexy romances like those by Penny Reid. But I like to try new authors. I should be able to finish this tomorrow!

Hope you are enjoying your convention!

So you have read other books by this author? This is my first. What was Vicious like?
Feb 05, 2019 08:56AM

I agree too that Francesca is spoiled and took the easy way. I think I would have tried to get out of my father’s power and run away. But like the above discussion, it probably would be very difficult to do. So I am not sure.
I find the animosity and power play between Fanscesca’s father and Keaton interesting. I do think in the end being with Keaton will help her to grow and grow up. At least, that is the hope.
