Oops! I forgot! I was so excited to finish... Doing it right now!
I also started Eragon today! (Did I mention I'm a serial book starter?) I've been meaning to read it for quite some time now & it's a chunkster, so why not now? I make no promises, but, hey, it's an E book title!

Task #77 - City name in title
How it fits: Washington in title
Could someone please add it to our spreadsheet for me?
Thanks so much!
I have a weird question... Are these tasks just for round 1 or do they remain for the entire challenge? I have been accused of having adult ADD before, but the jury's still out on that one!
Tina ❣ wrote: "Is anyone planning on reading The Motorcycle Diaries or has already read it?"I've only ever noticed the movie before! I've just ordered the book from my library. It only has 175 pages, so it just barely qualifies for Wheel. I always try to read the book for whatever my team name is for any challenge. Hopefully I'll learn something new!

I really, really miss that feature! I used to look at my authors all the time! I'm a huge Charlaine Harris & Janet Evanovich fan! Also Ng with all those cozy mysteries... I call them brain candy...

I'll give a book 100 pages& if I'm not into it, I'll stop. That's not to say I won't revisit later... So my 5-star reads are stories that resonated with me for some reason, were amazing stories or had some sort of magic for me...
I LOVE all the Stephanie Plum mysteries, Sookie Stackhouse books and I'm a sucker for mysteries with bad puns in the title... One person's 5-star is another person's trash. No 2 people ever read the same book. I give most books 3-4 stars, rarely 2 or 1 because I gave up on them!
Here are my "official" recommendations to share with the rest of the world! This was super hard, but here goes...The Red Tent, Spring Moon: A Novel of China, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, Bitter in the Mouth, Eva Luna, The Mammoth Hunters, River God, The 19th Wife, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, Mambo Peligroso: A Novel, The Last Kingdom, In the Shadow of the Banyan, A Thousand Splendid Suns, Red Sister, The Poppy War, Purple Hibiscus & Blood of the Earth
For my teammies, please feel free to check out my books on my "5-star" reads shelf. Any and/or all of these books come highly recommended! My all-time favorite authors are Isabel Allende, Jean Auel, Lisa See, Charlaine Harris, Amy Tan, Morgan Llewelyn, Louise Erdrich.... There are so many! I love historical fiction, cozy mysteries, humor, paranormal. I'm nothing if not eclectic! I'm just coming off 2 group challenges -- 1 was longish & 1 was 8 weeks. I'm kinda enjoying not doing specific reading for a little while. I almost enjoy the planning stage more than the actual reading, if that makes sense.
Our libraries have just opened up the book drops again, so I can return the 28 books I've finished since lockdown started! Today is the first day of their new "Library Takeout" program. You can call to make an appointment to pick up books you've requested. I'm going to wait awhile & try & schedule for next Monday afternoon. I've got about 10 books waiting patiently... I started out self-quarantine with 89 books/CDs! The target reopening date is June 15, but I don't think that's going to happen...
How are things where you live?
OK! After much consideration, I have come up with my 1st 3 books for round 1!The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga- fits letter A for author name, is tagged Tiger & works for task #76: set in India (321 pages)
The Lost City of the Monkey God: A True Story by Douglas Preston - fits letter D for author's first name, is tagged Indigenous & works for task #185: set in Central America (328 pages)
BOM book Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott - fits letter R for author's first name & works for either task #48 Contemporary or #56 Romance. I'll participate in the discussion (288 pages)
Could one of our lovely captains please add these to our planning spreadsheet for me?Thank you!

I just learned how to cut & paste with it last month...
Aloha everyone! I'm Lauri from Hawaii & I'm so excited to play! I work in Medical Records at the State Hospital (yes, mental hospital.) I'm deemed essential even though I'm not direct care and have been working full time throughout the quarantine. I love reading, but I like real books! I dislike reading on a tablet & depend on the public library for everything. Unfortunately our libraries remain closed, so the Wheelathon may be a bit tricky for me! I've done several Wheels, but I still cannot manage a link or a spreadsheet to save my life.
My shelf is: nbrc-wheel-2020
I can't wait to get started!
Hello fellow isolationists! How's everybody doing out there? I'm still working & have been reading like a fiend this whole time. Sometimes you just need to get your mind off the pandemic doom & gloom....I'm actually in the middle of All Systems Red right now. Too funny. I think I'll continue on with the series. I'm in Hawaii and our public libraries are still closed. I hope I'll be able to give Wheel my best shot in spite of that. The main thing I've learned from all this is I hate reading on my tablet!!
