35559 MY MONTHLY RECOMMENDATION (and why):

The Unicorn Hunt (The House of Niccolo, #5) by Dorothy Dunnett - this is book 5 of the House of Niccolo series, but I can wholeheartedly recommend these books if you like Historical fiction.
Author Dorothy Dunnett is magnificent and should be more widely known and read. The narrator John Banks is fantastic - he narrates all books for this series.

The Eyre Affair (Thursday Next, #1) by Jasper Fforde - this is a favourite book/series of mine, but this was the first time I listened to the audiobook version. Great, crazy literary fun book with good narration.

Uncle Fred in the Springtime by P.G. Wodehouse - simply hilarious in the true Wodehouse style and Jonathan Cecil is a great narrator.

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman - once again, a favourite book (I'm a bit more ambiguous about Gaiman's other books) and the full-cast narration suits it very well. Karen recommended this to me, so thank you. 🥰

Thank you, Lisa.😊

- I also enjoyed bleak house and Little Dorrit is more enjoyable imo. Fantastic reads"

Oh, good to know!! I'm looking forward to it. I find that Dickens works for me (even) better on audio, so I'm going for the audiobook narrated by Juliet Stevenson whom I like very much. :)

35559 After the final updates, we finished in 2nd place for Round 1 which is absolutely great !! Fantastic reading, Team!! Nothing Inferior about our painting. 🤭🥰 🥳

So, keep those books (doorstoppers ;) coming.

Having said that, for the next few days I'll be only able to read shorter books, but after we are back from our travels, I'm planning to finally tackle Little Dorrit, which is next on my Dickens-TBR and a few other books over 600 pages. 😊

🥰

Sana, how did you like Bleak House? it's one of my favourites by Dickens. The other is Our Mutual Friend.

Even all the circus books I have already read are print copies. Guess I don't like circus audio 😆."

I don't like them much either way... 😅

This, I have on kindle, so maybe I can take it ahead along with the upcoming BOM.

Cat, you claim the heraldic beast, I won't get to start Niccolo until next w/e when we are back from our travels.

Audiobooks and family time are not a good fit. 😉

Or I'm OK with Lamb as scary....

35559 Thanks to Sana I've discovered Wodehouse's Uncle Fred series. I have not come across them before, but just finished the delightful & hilarious Book 1 and I'll definitely try and get the other books too, especially with all these Us we need.
