I like it. 😊

35559 Sophie wrote: "Have the 3 of you got a plan regarding team names yet?"

Not really. I kicked the discussion off by suggesting

"Challenge Wraiths" (or maybe the Fellowship of the Challenge Wraiths) as we are as attracted by reading challenges like the wraiths are by the One Ring. 🤭

But would love to hear other suggestions.

I also invited Karen over here to discuss this v-v important aspect of the challenge. 😉

35559 For sake of completeness I'm putting here the pic that Sammy enticed Karen with. 😉

For some reason, it wasn't of Gollam either.

The enticement was a v kind, but unnecessary gesture!"

35559 Dear Cat,

Dear Sophie,

(view spoiler)

Sammy and I are propositioning you to join us and Karen in a Fellowship of a Tolkien reading challenge over at Perks.

Same laid-back, no-pressure approach as with this one, if you'd consider. 😊🥰

Putting the enticement under spoilers in case Domi may be around later. 🤭

35559 Elisabeth,

one of my books fits the "beach holiday" theme even if it's during winter, but that part of the task isn't specified. ;)

35559 I'm committed to 3 lengthy books right now, but also looking forward to picking up shorter books after Wheel. :)

35559 Oh thank heavens, that 100-125 page range is the nastiest of all. Vile. :D
Dec 03, 2024 07:21AM

35559 Ah, we are having a curse of the short books now that we are reading tomes. 🤭

Judoon has been dealt with, we have

Dromes

1. 100-175
2. SPIN in text (can be part of a word, like spinning or spindle)
3. Character is trapped (can be physical or metaphorical)
4. Book setting is an imaginary land
5. letters DREAM in title

35559 I have done some house-keeping and moved some of our claimed, but as yet unfinished books downwards the spell-out ladder and already finished books upwards.

They are all there, just not necessarily in their original rows. :)

35559 Wow!
Dec 02, 2024 10:51AM

35559 I can throw my list at you tomorrow. ;)

I don't know about "fun" as the chosen genres are very predictable: history, historical fiction, memoir + a Jeeves collection which is fun-fun I guess. ;)

35559 And the 85% audible sale is on....
and I've just added 8 titles to my cart...

Non, je ne regrette rien 😅

35559 description

Teamies,

as the Gardening mini was missing 2 books only, I have made a bit of a switch (Elisabeth, Audrey - your books will be used for the new round) and books finished from now on may be used for a new round of Gardening Mini. Well done!!! 🥰

Have added new rows and assigned all unfinished books that were not yet indicated for minis to tasks.

35559 Richard,

Thank you. :)
