Reed, I'm doing the City of Oaks marathon in Raleigh in November. It's close to home so no traveling and I can train on a portion of the course that's pretty hilly so I don't get stressed about that area. Also, I've done the half marathon race several times, so I'm comfortable with the logistics. Jennifer, I've been meaning to do the Quintiles race for a few years now, and something keeps getting in the way each year. Good to know its a good one if I ever get around to it. :)
I admit I do love to use running as an excuse to travel.
Daily Questions:1. I had a hard time with this one! I'm going to go with The English Patient, although I really found both of them tedious at least the movie ate up less time, and it had Ralph Fiennes.
2. I'm late to the party but I just listened to Spider's Bite on Audio and loved it. I think at least a part of that may have been the reader who had a great Southern accent so I got a good feel for the main character
3. I work a strange middle of the day shift--so I like to read some in the morning when its quiet and then at night before I go to bed.
4. I used be horrible about cheating and reading the end. I'm a little better now with the kindle and audiobooks --but that's mostly because I can't! If its a book book, I still read the end.
Hi everyone! I feel like I'm the last to check in, but I'm old school enough that I hate trying to type longer posts on my phone app. And for some strange reason my work place doesn't like me using their computers to get on Goodreads. But I have been keeping up with everything and everyone during the day, and its nice to meet you all and I look forward to getting to know all of you. I am a challenge junkie. I have found that I have trouble picking out a next book to read if I don't have some challenge telling me what I need to pick. But, I have read a ton of books that I wouldn't have otherwise because of challenges, so I think that is great.
I am in Raleigh, NC where Summer has officially arrived (possibly 100 degrees here on Sunday)! I am single (Victoria you are not alone!) and I have a large demanding Italian mastiff that keeps me company. I can't help with the swimming, but I will be spending the summer training for a marathon in November--so lots of audiobooks to keep me company. :)
I work as a physical therapist in a Trauma Center here in Raleigh, where real life is usually not going so well, so I read mostly books that I find entertaining and refreshing and not necessarily high literature. Love me some good romance--of any genre--Urban fantasy and thrillers, but I'm open to just about anything.

Yay! Thanks for checking for me.
I can't remember whether I put chatty or not, but if I didn't can you still switch me to a chatty team? Thanks, and excited to get started.
Since we are chatting... To you Fever lovers, I'm really struggling with whether to continue after the crap fest that was the end of book 3. Does it really get better??? I just can't figure out how it progresses from there.
Bobbi wrote: "So we're just waiting on two people now?"I don't think either of those two people are still playing, so are we ready to move on without the extra 10 points?
It looks like we have a good number of the last detour finished already....
I may have missed this, but when is the actual start date? I just want to see how close to finished I will be with some other involved challenge before I sign up.
I'm looking for a first page shelf 2008 book. The problem I'm running into, is that all the top shelves on the first page for books published in 2008 are actually later years--when people have actually read them. I'll keep looking, but just so you all are aware.
Sounds like fun! Earth Day Challenge

Hi all! Sorry I've been quiet-- just back from vacation. I will update the books I read over the last 10 days or so (trouble getting to the sheet when I'm not at home), and I'm good with moving on without the last 10 points.
I'll keep going. I have been delinquent about adding books, so I will go catch myself up. I did message the mods last week that we were finished with our last stop, so we can go ahead and add the next sheet and start filling it in. Of course, then I forgot to come back and tell everyone that. ** hangs head in shame** I'm sorry I haven't been more on this--I've gotten a little wrapped up in other challenges.
And I'm pretty sure Nikk is right and we already have enough J names in our list--I think I did a quick run through on that last weekend too.
So we are just missing Romina to finish the spell it out. I think we can use her book Lost Girls for the author name that begins with A to complete our spell it out, and it looks like she has finished a book since our arrival on 3/10. Does that sound okay Romina? If someone would like to check and make sure I'm right, we can message the mods and move to the next stop.
I just logged in another book--so I'm ready to move onto the next stop. I tried to make the spreadsheet for this stop, but for some reason it won't let me copy and paste one of the other stops to the new page without downloading a whole new app. I am terrible at spreadsheets, so it would probably literally take me hours to rebuild what the other pages look like, so if anyone else can copy and paste, have at it!
