Task: Historical or Romance (we have 2 of these now, right?)Book: Ravished
Author: Amanda Quick
Pages: 385
Completed: 6/26/16
How It Fits: tagged historical 580 times
Have fun Leslie!I finished Ravished which will work for Romance or historical.
Now to figure out what I can finish by Friday....
Do we know when exactly Battleship ends? Friday am? pm? Midnight? I'm trying to figure out how long a book I can fit in after I finish my current one tomorrow.
I didn't even think about that Suzanne- that makes perfect sense. I'll change it as soon as I can log into the full site.
Task: Read a book tagged RomanceBook Read: The Baller: A Down and Dirty Football Novel
Author: Vi Keeland
Pages: 300 on GR, 285 on Ami
Date: 6/23/16
How it Fits: Tagged Romance 272 times
I finished The Baller: A Down and Dirty Football Novel, but I have a page number issue... GR says 300p, but Amazon (and my Kindle) say 285. Not sure which to use? I'm pretty sure that I cannot read another book for the Romance task, correct? So I'm going to start Ravished for historical (shelved historical 309 times).
Name: StaceyTask: Read a book by an author who also has a pseudonym
Book: White Hot Kiss
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Pages: 388
Date: 6/22
How It Fits: Author also publishes as J. Lynn
Yay! I finally finished a book! Completed White Hot Kiss last night. I'm going to start The Baller: A Down and Dirty Football Novel which will work for a Romance bonus, or not part of a series. I'm also going to start Kitty and the Midnight Hour which will work for Paranormal, Fantasy or Romance. And its official--I am the only person left on the planet that has not watched and/or read GoT. Guess I should get on that! :)
And puppies!!
I should finish my book for my primary read today and am trying to figure out what to read next. If I'm reading rules right, I should read bonus books for the hits rather than working on any of the miss tasks to maximize points, is that right? I'm pretty sure I'll understand how all this works just about the time this section is over. :)Hoping everyone is feeling better!
Swimming! I hadn't even thought of that. Now I'm even excited to put on a bathing suit and go to the pool. :)
@Suzanne and Daphne--I've been in glasses and/or contact lenses for 30 years, and had shields on all day yesterday and didn't get the full effect, so I've had to pinch myself a couple of times today to remember that my eyes are seeing so perfectly all on their own now. It's truly amazing what 10 minutes and a laser can do!
Okay, so I'm a bit late to the party...I had Lasik surgery yesterday which knocked me out a little more than I was expecting, but I did manage to pick a book to start. I'm going to read
which will work for the Romance, Paranormal or Author who also has a pen name (J.Lynn) task.
I just want to make sure I have this timing thing right. We can't count books that were started before the official start time tomorrow. And we can't count any books finished during Battleship for any other WOBBLE challenges. BUT we can use any book started AFTER the start date for any challenge--so if I start a book tomorrow, but don't finish it for 4 weeks, we can use it for whatever challenge we are in at that point. Is that all correct?
Soooo, it looks like we have everything covered. ;) Since nothing seems to be blatantly in need of a book from me, I'm going to wait until I pick some books for 2 other challenges I'm in tomorrow and make something fit with them and us. Is that okay?
C3 and H8. Unless it would help to keep a tab of my own, I'll just stick with my own spreadsheet. :)

Discussion Questions 12 June, Chapters 1-41. What made you decide to read this book, besides it being book of the month? Mostly it was because it was a BOM, but the description sounded interesting, and it works for a bunch of my challenges. :)
2. What do you make of Amina? Do you like her? She seems to be a strong character. I like some sass and sarcasm in my heroines so I'm enjoying her. I also like that she has a skill that can protect her that she worked hard on--it didn't just magically appear suddenly at the beginning of the book.
3. The town of Dustwalk doesn’t sound like a very nice place to live. What do you think of this town and its inhabitants? I also wondered why the author didn’t give it a Middle Eastern name like the characters and some of the other towns. The name is strange, but I got a firm Middle Eastern vibe from everything else, so I'm just going with it for now. Maybe it will be explained along with all the magic hints in the story.
4. Can Amani trust Jin “the Foreigner”? Is it smart of her to go away with him? I wonder who he is and I have my suspicions as to why he is called a foreigner, do you have any suspicions about him? I think trust might not be a good idea, but I think they both are aware that they can get farther working together than alone, and that they can use each other to their advantage-- at least for a while.
5. Do you like the world the author has built? I’m stilgl a little confused about what has happened and is happening. It's interesting, but still very confusing still to me. The First Beings and djinn, and other random magical beings in what appears to be an almost dystopian setting is throwing me off a bit.
I'm going to read Rebel of the Sands for one of the Books of the Month. And I'm hoping to finish Indulgence in Death on audio before Friday....or maybe Saturday.
Suzanne wrote: "I was late to the party too - I just read Spider's Bite last month. The only thing I didn't like was the "love" relationship, but I should have listened to it because a beautiful southern accent wo..."I was NOT a fan of the detective. I'm hoping either he mellows in the next few books or a better option comes along.
