Wait where are you seeing our Bonuses? I don't see any official page in our spreadsheet, just Becky's planning one.
Labor 4 - The Mystery◈ Reveal the Twist - Read a book where the title is in two different colors.
I can read
This book also works for:
Injure a Foot - Read a book where someone is injured severely.

Is this for Labor 2 ◈ Search the Shire - Read a book where someone throws a party? Does the character throw/organize the party or just attend?

I like it. I'm impressed that you can finish Moby Dick in 2 weeks though! Or one week if you're only starting on Friday :s

Everyone, please read them over carefully. We do not have spreadsheets yet, but that doesn't me..."
Also, to clarify (as many people in the captains group had this question), it states in the rules that:
Each team member must read 2 books and enter them for the main labors before reading any books for the bonus labors.
This is per person, not per team. So, for example if Minx finishes her two books by tomorrow (or immediately with books finished after BINGO ended), she can finish books for bonus tasks as soon as those books are finished and entered in the spreadsheet (please be patient with us). She does not have to wait for me. I may only finish my two books by next Friday, and then I can start reading bonus books as well.
Each individual player is expected to finish at minimum their two main task books. We cannot have anyone "banking" books for the next game because they are reading only books that don't work for the main tasks. It has been stated that books banked and carried forward will NOT be worth as much as books read during the last game (Emerge the Victor).
Preferably we would like to let everyone have a chance to choose their two main tasks (so that they have as many options as possible) and can definitely find something they want to read. There are a total of 60 main tasks, with only 13 of us who each have to read two. So once everyone has had a chance to claim, we will need lots of books to fill in the remaining tasks. I just don't want anyone stuck with choices they may not like (being forced to read a book about vampires sounds like torture to me, for example, lol)
I'm back! Lets do this!Vicky has said that she will be working on planning spreadsheets for this game tomorrow morning, so we'll do our best to plan things out however it works best until then.
Maybe instead of constantly refreshing Goodreads waiting for the planning to start I should go read a book. LOL. I'll wait until my phone starts blowing up with notifications before I come back and check.
The Genre Minx wrote: "Me too!! When can we plan??"About an hour and a half ago Kelly said she would post them when she gets home. All we can do is wait, but everyone should keep reading because we should be able to fit in whatever books you choose somewhere hopefully.
Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ wrote: "The Genre Minx wrote: "Ha ha ha, going to trust you. Hoping not to be too confused by it."Nah... looks really easy. We should be able to post rules to the teams soon"
Yeah the game looks easy to understand, and is most comparable to Olympics I would say.
I want to start planning!!! *bounces up and down*
Bemused Bookworm wrote: "Yay, we did great...i slept until 3pm after staying up so late reading. lol. Excited to see the rules for the next game!!"I'm not surprised. You read two books last night, lol. Give yourself a pat on the back
LOL Becky. Don't worry about it. I entered the books that were finished before the deadline into the spreadsheet when I got up this morning (which was after the deadline). I think that this is ok, similar to how in Battleship we could read up to the deadline and enter points during the 12-hour rest period between games. If we're told this is incorrect, a mod can remove the points for those books.
Alright, that's it that's all. Everything that was finished by the deadline has been entered. Other teams may be adding points still but we are currently sitting at 5th placeI have to congratulate you all and say I am amazed at our team. Even after losing 4 players, we are solidly and consistently in the top ten. I'm so grateful that you guys always come together to find books for any and every task, no matter how crazy or out of your comfort zones they may be.
And especially, seeing as work has been keeping Vicky so busy and Shannon, Becky, and I have been doing our best to muddle through sorting things out, I think I can speak for all of us when I say thank you for your help and we appreciate your patience :p
Because the release of the rules for Labors of Bookules (our next game) has been delayed while the tireless leaders of this challenge sorted them out, that game will not be starting until 12 hours after Bingo ended. The rules should be posted here in just a little while and you all can read them and we'll figure out where to go from there. (They have been released to the Captains, but I have to get to work so haven't even taken a peek yet. Some of the other caps will be around though soon I'm sure to help plan stuff)
We have been told that any books that are finished AFTER the end of Bingo can be used for Labors of Bookules. So go ahead and finish any books you've been holding on to if you'd like.
Moderators of NBRC wrote: "BONUS!Knock Knock? Who's there? Robin. Robin who? Robin the bonus points again."
Yay, Margaret! And a long book too!
Last night I was thinking books had to be entered before the end of Bingo, which was 1h45 ago, but then I realized, that in the previous games books just had to be FINISHED by that time. So I'm going to enter the few books that were posted in this thread, but not entered to the sheet.
The Genre Minx wrote: "You guys are awesme! My sincerest apologies, lol, yesterday was my bday and I had margaritas at dinner time. It was the tequila. Knocked me out. Lol"Pfft, don't worry about it. Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a great time last night. If you had margaritas, I'm guessing you did :)
Shannon wrote: "I just switched Becky's book to the horse rider! Crap, I'm sorry. I was trying to make the stupid bow tie!!"Oh shoot, sorry Margaret! Let us know if you want to read that book for a different square, or a different book that fits somewhere else if you want.
I'm off to bed ladies. Have a good night.
I started entering some. The ones I'm sure we won't need to move, like Non-fiction, author has died, Title contains You.I left the easy ones like "5", "title starts with M" "S" in case we need to move.
I'm planning on heading to bed soon though, so as long as one of you will be around the enter the books before the deadline, I'll can leave them open to stay flexible. What do you think?
