I can't remember who recommended to me, but holey cow was it a creepy read! It was really, really well done and it has to be another favourite for me in 2014.

Great idea ST! I've already added a couple of yours to my TBR list

My favourites for 2014 were:

The Deep End of the Sea I absolutely loved the portrayal of the Greek Gods in this book - one big dysfunctional family. Also the use of Medusa as our heroine I think was something different.

Angelfall and its sequel World After - I think you already know my love for this series.

Daughter of Smoke & Bone - this story just sucked me in!

Gone Girl - the audible version of this was so well done. The male and female narrators just brought the book alive for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Leviathan Wakes - great sci-fi adventure

And finally, I just finished Sempre which was the book I chose for the Bottom of My TBR pile book for our unofficial challenge - what an amazing surprise this book turned out to be - I have already purchased the sequel :)

Anyone who's missed the BR earlier in the month for The Martian, some of us are starting it on the 1st January if anyone wants to join in the BR.

Oh I am so glad you liked it!!!! I will have to reread the second one so I can remind myself where it left off before the third one comes out in 2015.

Oops, looks like it was actually eight books. It was naughty of me considering the already ridiculous number of books collecting dust waiting to be read on my eReader, but I couldn't resist.

no books for me, but due to the limited space in my house i only do ebooks anyway, so my family would know not to buy me any. however I bought myself 7 books on boxing day as Kobo had a sale on :)
