I wish my partner would read books, but he is not a reader at all. Reading for him is a very rare occurance - maybe 2 books a year, and he will only read non-fiction, often that non-fiction book will be philosophy... yuck. We are very different when it comes to books!!!!

Ooh, I like reading a book series before it gets made into a TV series.

Great to have you along Kristin. I hope I love her books as much as you do. I really want to find a good series that has multiple books in it.

I am on the last chapter of The Color of Magic and I just love Rincewind and Twoflower as travelling companions. They are such complete opposites. Rincewind is a nervous, some would say cowardly being, while Twoflower does not appear to be scared by anything. He takes every circumstance they find themselves in, no matter how perilous, as some grand new experience. These two travelling together is hilarious.

I am glad I'm not the only one who got a bit confused with so many characters introduced straight away, especially with two short names starting with the letter N!

I have a question - I have just finished The Martian which was self published in 2012, but then published through a book publisher in 2014 - which publication date do I use?

I am 24 minutes behind you in finishing Kristin! I too could not put it down and I feel like my eyes are falling out of my head - but it was totally worth it!

I love the modernity of it - I think it is a fun premise.

3. What would be your thoughts if you got snatched from your website and tossed into a chat room with people telling you that you're a witch? Would you roll with it or call the police about the tall dark stranger coming to scan you?
I think it would seriously freak me out! I would think it was a scam, or I would be worried that someone was stalking me.

4. What do you think Lauren's talent is? Something to do with her uncanny real estate broker abilities?
Maybe extreme empathy, an ability to read people's emotions?

5. Any favorite characters so far? How are you liking the book?
I like Lauren as the protagonist, however I haven't picked a favourite out yet.

Just a quick question - does a series read where people are on different books and comment on other books in the series count for a BR? I am reading the first book in the Discworld series, but the couple of other comments on the thread are for other books in the series.

It is totally addictive, I can't put it down. I feel like the book has been going forever I am so engaged with it, but I haven't even reached 50% - which is great because it's the type of book you don't want to end as it's such a good read.

Ok, my absolute favourite part of the book so far is Venkat's email - chp 13' Sol 116 - so funny!

This book just keeps getting better. Iam nearly at the end of chp 12.

(view spoiler)[ I can't wait for them to tell the crew of Hermes that Mark is alive and there is a plan for his rescue, they are going to be so damn happy.

Right now I have started the flashback to where the crew had to abandon the Mission and leave Mark behind. Even though we know they obviously all get to the Hermes safely (beside Mark of course), I am finding the scene where Lewis trying to find Mrak's body while the MAV is about to tip, very tense.
