35559 just finished a REALLY appallingly bad book for set in Idaho. SOOOOOO bad! possibly worse than Mrs Fix-It (for those who remember my pain and hatred of those).

SEAL the Deal"

a plant nursery or a kid nursery? if the former then probably, if the latter, then no!

tests the captains have been using include, "would the putative farm qualify for an agricultural loan from the relevant government agency?" I know one of the teams has used that to validate a flower farm, so this will probably work?

Sarah's finding it long too. I quite enjoyed it - I thought it was sneakily funny, and I liked understanding the characters and their motivation and development.

35559 totally count tailor's scissors as a weapon. pretty sure Midsomer Murders have had them as a murder implement!

Welcome to our two new players! We've been told that we can use any books you started after the start of the challenge till now, so do please pop them on the tracking sheet when you get a moment! If you ca post a hello, including your challenge shelf link and maybe your addition to our range of livestock!

To catch you up, we are currently half way through the first mini (books finished after 1 June work), where we are reading for various tasks. Apart from that, all books need to be assigned to one of four resources - so you'll see we are all putting notes as to weapons / shelter / food / defense against our books. You really don't need to over think it - the Resource tab will give you some ideas, but worst case any book can be a weapon (if hurled) or defence (building a wall)
