35559 Organizing based on which challenges end sooner? Woah, that takes a lot of thought!

Saturday, November 8th (1am for me), I will be on here and starting my first book! I'm getting excited! I have a few books I want to start, but I keep telling myself that I should wait until the 8th so I can get credit for our team.

35559 I love that we are so chatty tonight. I keep checking in to read the newest comment. Currently, I'm sitting in a coffee shop with my book and notes all sprawled out. I appear to be really focused on my studying but as soon as I get a notification from goodreads I jump on my phone. (:

I also really like your shelves. Having a list of what to read each month would encourage me to read quicker!

35559 Well said!

I'm not sure if the daily questions is something that I would like. Although, I do want to try it once just to see. I haven't done book of the month, buddy reads or anything like that. It's excited to be starting with this because it encourages me to try new things. I'm also glad to have you guys to talk to for tips for different activities.

35559 Hi Karrie! Don't worry about being the weakest link (I also mostly get books from the library and I think I only have access to one of the books of the month). You can get points from reading just about anything. Also, with buddy reads there are a lot of options on books. Even though a few of us are really competitive, we are trying to have fun. This is supposed to be for entertainment, not stress! (:

35559 Tina-
I'm really competitive also! I know this is for fun and all but I'm ready to talk game plan and such, haha. I have a stack of books that I'm waiting to read. I wish the 8th would be here already!

35559 I was thinking that it might be a good idea to list out the buddy reads coming up. Then we can kind of "sign-up" for them. That way, we can get more points, or at least, start the forth month really strong.

35559 Well, as I said before, my name is Jennifer (but most people call me Jen or Jenny). I live with two of my friends in Oregon. I spend a lot of my time in class and such. I am a senior in college (but not at Oregon or Oregon State). I'm a psychology major who has no idea what she is doing next year. When I'm not in class I like to explore the city or head to the coast.

As for books, I haven't been reading as much as I have in the past. I have time to read, but I need some inspiration. Hopefully, this will help me get back into it.

In general, I read best seller/popular books. My favorite book this year was Gone Girl. From time to time I read young adult books- usually the ones in a series. I wish I liked classics more than I do. I enjoyed Grapes of Wrath, To Kill a Mockingbird and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, but that is pretty much the extent of my knowledge of classics.

I want to read a few new genres; in particular, more classics, some historic, and some sociology types.

Not for my first team challenge
Is this your first team challenge with NBRC?
Yes!

Note: I have read a lot less than most of the people who have posted so far. I do have time to read more. Having the ability to discuss books after I've read makes me read much more. I have been in somewhat of a rut with my reading. I look forward to pushing myself to read multiple books a week.
