35559 Alright, I stayed up late and finished my first book.
My goal for the year was to read 40 books. I have no officially read 27. Hopefully this read-a-thon will help me step up my game and get reading!

35559 Hi Blakely, welcome to the team. I'm glad you are here.

It's almost time for this to start. I'm excited to see how we stack up against the other teams. This should be fun!

35559 Margaret- I use google docs a lot in my classes. Here is a video that I've looked to in the past for help. Also, if you have any questions feel free to ask me. Also, if you are willing to wait a day, I can make it. I just need to make it through the rest of my midterms before I can do it.

35559 You are allowed to start books early and they count as long as you finish them after the start time.

35559 That would have been a good one to save! You can always start one now and then save it. I was hoping by starting early I would be calm my excitement a little, but all it did was make me anxious to finish the book.

35559 Karrie- teaching preschool sounds like a fun but crazy task.

I can't wait for this to start. I started a book and I have about 100 pages left before the end right now. So, it's sitting on my desk waiting for this to start.

35559 I'm guessing you can find a buddy relatively quickly. A lot of people are probably going to start out strong to get points for tower teams and buddy reads is an easy way to do that.

35559 You could request a buddy read for a book you are interested in.

35559 Okay, great.

I think I will join The Bell Jar and Big Little Lies.
35559 I'm joining also!

35559 Thank you for that! I feel a lot better about a buddy read. It isn't as big of a commitment as I originally thought.

For getting points as a team, I know we get points if we do a buddy read with someone other than someone in the group. So, what I'm thinking is we can jump in and join one that will be starting soon. Can multiple people in our group join the same buddy read or does it only count for one person?

35559 So are you in a pairing or a group? It seems like a pairing because of the name, but they also post it which makes it seem like they want many people to join.

35559 I'm a little confused about buddy reads in general. Does anyone want to give me a quick run down on how they work?

35559 I'm planning on reading at least one of the books of the month. I just need to see which ones are available at the library.

35559 Karla- I never even thought of having a group to organize my challenges. I spent the last hour making a group for myself and finding new challenges that I want to attempt. You may have created a monster.
