Okay, I think our team goal should be to get 1000 points this week. That would put us at 4940.

Honestly, I'm open to pretty much any YA or fiction that are easy reads.

I'm really open to anything though.
And it doesn't have to be young adult. I just don't want to have to do any classics or things that will take a lot of thought.

Hi there. I'm Jen and I'm in Fire Drakes. I was wondering if anyone here would want to pick some books to read as buddy reads, either new or past books. I'm looking for someone who can read one or two books a week with me.

Are we wanting to do another mini goal this week?
We could do the team goal again, although I'm not super sure how helpful that was (it was much more awesome in my head!).
We could try a personal goal again.

It's not that we aren't reading a lot. We really are, but we aren't getting a lot of points for our books. I counted, and we read 25 books this week.

We earned 670 points for those books, which is good but most teams earn around 1000 a week.

If each of those books were buddy reads... We would have earned 1280 points. Which would have put at at number 13.

So, if we are worried about point we need to keep up the good reading but jut pick books that will give us more points.

I finally finished up The Bell Jar, which was a buddy read. So that's 50 points. I also just finished The Mermaid's Mirror which was 20 more points. So, that is 70 more points for us. I also think I reached my mini goal! Are we going to be doing those again?

Ugh. I have been so very busy with dead week (and messing around a little on my birthday). I'm going to finish a book tonight and I'm working on another one. That will help a little with points.

Next week is finals for me so I will be busy. But, after that I am off from from for a whole month, so I'm going to really be putting up some points for us!!

Great! I will probably be reading it starting around the 10th. We can discuss at some point on the forum this month! (:

I just finished The Road - 241 pages
It is a buddy read.
So, that is another 50 points.

I'm around three fourths of the way done with this book. So, here are some things so far. (view spoiler)[ I was really interested in the conversation between the boy and his dad. The boy asking the dad what their "long term goals where"? I thought it was interesting because they really don't have any long term goals or a future. It was what the woman had said. I'm wondering what you guys think about it. Is it good to keep the boy live even though there is no future? Does a parent keep their kid going no matter what or is it more kind to not (like what his mom thoughts and wanted)? (hide spoiler)]

Oh man oh man. I'm in dead week right now. I have a 12 page paper due tomorrow. I have one page done. Tomorrow is also my birthday but because I've been reading (and messing around with friends so much) I will have to spend the day writing my next paper.

Actually, I will start the posting now. I have some points that aren't there including in our current total. (:

Okay, so I finished the book. Again, I liked it. I will probably read the rest of the series in the near future. I gave it 3 stars because I thought it was interesting, but I was dispointed with a few things that I thought weren't ever finished.

For example (view spoiler)[ I really liked the larva. Yet, I felt like they weren't as developed as they could have been. I wanted to see Luce help them out more. When Anais was "training" them and teasing with the clam or whatever, I really wanted Luce to offer food to them. I couldn't help but think about how she could have been bring them into the cave to prevent them from being eaten, rather than sitting alone in a cave all day singing to herself. Also, I was expecting her to miss her friend more than she did. (hide spoiler)]

Yeah, we can go ahead and post the books here along with the points we think we will earn. Then we can have a running total.

Also, we will be able to look at the spread sheet to see if we are getting to an overall of 4370.

Okay guys, we are now ranked number 12. However, we did GREAT with points this week!! We earned 1260 points this week which is tied for the 3rd highest earning for the week.


I think our goal for the week should be 1100, which will help us to continue to move up the rankings. How does everyone feel about that being our goal?

I am joining up on this one. I've been wanting to read it for a while. I'm from Fire Drakes and I also volunteer to write questions.
