We have about 5,440 points right now. That's some really good progress right now. I think we can really move up the rankings if we kill going at it like we have been! Hopefully, we can get to 6100 points by the end of the week. So we still have some work to do. I believe in us though!

I'm almost done with . I'm doing it as s buddy read so I will get us 50 points once I finish. This is the second book in the series. So far, I really like them. They are quick easy reads. My only negative is that's don't like one of the main characters which makes reading it a little difficult.

Karla, I added my fins, thought to the forum. I really liked the book (The Bell Jar) and I was talking all about it to my friends so I totally forgot to share on the forum.

Yeah, I'm hoping that Lisa grows on me later. I think she just is kinda complainie. Also I kept hoping that she would notice hat something big was going on with Rose. I mean she did notice her change in which clothes she bought. Yet, I wanted to see her to press the issue to find out more of what is going on. I feel bad that Rose goes to such an effort to look after and take care of Lissa. Yet, Lissa does to do the same.

Okay, I must read chapter 5. I'm planning on reading more tonight also.

End of chapter 5. Rose just met Tasha. I really like Tasha. I think it was avoid lesson for Rose to see that the scare was part of her. I'm wondering if later on Rose will get some kind of scare. I know she will get a tattoo eventually. I'm looking forward to her killing. Maybe she won't want the marks though she seems really mixed about them. (hide spoiler)]

I just started this last night. I really liked the first book and am excited to see what happens next.

How do you feel about Rose's mom? (view spoiler)[ On one hand I understand how she would need to be a guardian and protect others. I mean if she was just a mom to Rose then a lot of people could being danger. So I do think she was justified in having Rose group at the academy. That ring said, I don't understand why she is so cold towards Rose. I expected her to be more quiet and cold, maybe an introvert that seems disconnected from the world. When she was all entertainer and chatting to the class, I was really annoyed. Why the heck can't she be like that to Rose. I mean, she couldn't have even told Rose she was coming. I mean, she could have stayed a little longer and grabbed lunch. (hide spoiler)]

I finished this about aweek ago but have yet to post my final thoughts. Overall, I absolutely LOVED this book. I liked to see the rise and fall of Ester. The story had an inserting flow, it seemed disjointed at times but each of the situations she found herelf in ended up leading to her fall. I want to reread this it keeeping in mind the ending.

Her mother really stuck out to me. At first she wasn't into paying for the sessions because they were expensive. As a reader I found that frustrating because I knew of the things affecting Ester. Also, knowing that she was thinking of killing herself made me feel more anxious about her not getting help. Later, when she wanted to stop treatment after the electric shock, her mom seemed happy, thinking that Ester wasn't like the other people. I think the character of her mother embodies family. Embers responses to mental illness. Her mom did pay for her to go and was trying to be supportive, but he didn't want to beilieve the gravity of the situation.

Overall, this book gives a great portrayal into mental illness. I like that we don't exactly know what is wrong with Ester. Diagnosising is not also black and white. Also, there was a stigma around mental illness back then and there is still one today?


What did everyone else think about her mom? Who was everyone's least favorite and most favorite characters?

Overall, I love Rose. I wish I would have realized that the necklace was a bad omen. I mean she did say that she didn't like things with roses on them. I like to see how she is maturing over the book and I can't wait to see her change over the series. Of course, I like her love interest also. Things got a little steamy for a while and I wonder how long it will be before that happens again. I really like the dynamic of him not being able to care more for her than Lissa because of his job. Yet, I wonder if he would even pick Lissa over Rose at this point.

I'm not that into Lissa. I wish I liked her more than I do. She just seems really annoying at this point.

Christian might be my favorite so far! When I thought he was dead, I was really upset. I didn't know if I was going to read the next book. Luckily, he wasn't. So I feel so much better now. (:

Who are your favorite characters? Am I being too harsh on Lissa?

I just finished The Vampire Academy. Now I'm moving on to the second book.

I earned 20 points for page length and 30 because of it being a buddy read. So I've earned 50 points towards my 100 point goal

I just finished chapter 16. Overall, I'm not really into all of the sexual comments made towards Rose. It was funny at the start but now it's a little extreme. Part of me is angry because it's not necessary. Yet I also think that it's good to see how this academy is similar to a normal high school. Same with the cutting, it's interesting to think that vampires have similar issues to human teens.

Currently Read . I like it so far, I'm about half way done. Hoping to finish tonight.

Since having a personal goal really helped me in the past, I'm going to say that my goal for this week (12/15-12/21) is to get 150 points.

Also, I think if we have 6000 points by the end of the week it would really help us move up the rankings. That means we need to earn 1200 points.

I'm halfway into it now. I'm not sure if I missed something or what but I don't really know what is going on with all the (view spoiler)[ animal stuff. I know that she had that power, but I don't understand where the fox and the rabbit are coming from? Do they come to her or is someone putting them there? And, if someone is putting them there, is it because they know about her power? (hide spoiler)].

We are doing great point wise! I'm proud of us this week. We still have time to get some more too.

I've been busy and haven't been doing much reading. But I just started another book. It's a buddy ready so I will get 50 points for us once I insight it. Hopefully that will be tomorrow. I've been slacking and I'm going to pick it up.

I also like the mini challenge ideas.

I started this today. I'm 80 pages in so far. I like it but I'm having a little trouble keeping tack of everyone.

I really liked the parallel between (view spoiler)[ having your blood sucked and doing drugs. I was really interested in the people who have their blood sucked daily. Also, I liked that Rose somehow craves it still. I'm excited to see how this one aspect of the world plays out. (hide spoiler)]

Well, I'm starting out on . It's a series read from a book of the month (The Crossing Places) from last month.

Alright everyone. I officially done with finals. I now have 31 days to dedicate to reading!!! I will hopefully go back to at least 3 books a week.

I was stressing hard core for my last final that is 14 hours away. I looked up and a guy in a Santa suit came into the library. He handed out candy canes and said "Merry Christmas" to every person. I feel so much better now.
