Oh Shannon, that's so painful. ☹️ I'm so glad you are getting some pain relief. When i had my wisdom tooth out on the bottom i was so worried about getting dry socket in it. Take it easy.

35559 Kerri, I hope you feel better soon and that your recovery is speedy. Surgery sucks, even when it ultimately makes you better. Anaesthesia makes me 🀒🀒🀒

35559 Go team! It's awesome that we've hit our book targets. Not that it's a priority, but I've never been on a winning team in any of my NBRC challenges. That's several TTs, Wheels and the floor is lava. Not gonna lie, it feels good being at the top. If it all goes topsy-turvy and we end up near the bottom, that's okay too, cos this group is very interesting and a lot of fun to be in. Plus, I have already returned three very old library books.

Also, a little reading up date. I'm only going to get Kushiels Dart and Bel Canto in before month end. So all other books listed will be June.

35559 Is this cover bright blue or dark blue?
Bel Canto by Ann Patchett

Also, do I claim an rt for my pale pink cover and one of you captains fills it in? Well, I claimed RT34, but if it's not right let me know and I'll delete it.

35559 Luckily, most of us are vaccinated against measles. Sadly, there has been a decline in vaccination rates, globally, I believe, but definitely in the UK, due in part to covid-19. Outbreaks worldwide are increasing, which is scary cos, as Suzanne said, it's crazy contagious. Like 9 out of 10 people exposed will contract the virus. I'm glad your grandson's school is taking it seriously.

It has good reviews. I hope it picks up for you.

35559 I love the updates too. So thanks for those, Suzanne. This group is so awesome. πŸ”₯ πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Tone your trip really inspires me to do something similar. I did go to Oxford a few years back to see the Bodelian after reading A Discovery of Witches. There wasn't a tour relating to the book, but there was a library tour. It was pretty amazing. My husband loved it cos of Morse/Lewis/Endeavour. He got to walk the streets of the shows. I plan to go to Whitby for some Dracula-ness soon. I think there are guided tours for that. Hopefully, they'll be as book centric as Tone's because it sounded so fab.

Good luck with end of year and the move, Jen. I hope it goes smoothly.

Maybe we can pester them to do a gray wheel, like when they did brown. Because I, too, have lots gray covers. Gray and black.

Well that will make things easier. Thanks for checking. ☺️

35559 Are our pink options only bright or dark? Cos I'm reading Breasts and Eggs by Mieko Kawakami , which is a very pink cover, but neither dark nor bright.

35559 @ Elinor - I'm not a captain but I think if you just put the colour of the cover in reason, the captains can probably create a tower with the various colours.

35559 As we're halfway through the month, thought I'd give a little heads ups about my reading and maybe get some opinions. I will get All Together Dead finished by this weekend and be halfway through Kushiels Dart, which i will have done by month's end. I can either read Black Night and A Closed nad Common, which are about 550 - 600 pages combined, or one 500 - 599 book, which we still need. Sadly, I am not awesome enough to read all three and finish Kushiel. I do plan on getting another 400 - 499 audio in, though. However, that will be my May, most likely. I can finish my mod tower books in June, right?

Alias Grace was what got me interested in Margaret Atwood. I loved the tone and evocation in it. I haven't read Handmaid's Tale yet, and may never. It just makes me angry thinking about it. Most of the others I've read are three stars, except the Madadam series. Though I have to finish the last book. But the first two, particularly Oryx and Crake, are excellent.

This is a fantastic series, which, I think, gets better and better each book. It's a wonderful building of a relationship between Meg and Simon, and humans (some) and others. I do hope you enjoy the rest of the series.
