Also, it's a shame that we didn't get vuvuzela as one of our bonus words, as it appeared in Zoo City. Like what are the odds that vuvuzela would appear?!

Scribd have these in audio. So I will try to get a few of these in. Depends on how they monitor usage. I defo have the first one.

I know there is TinEye, but I find it's sometimes unreliable. I mean it never sees white, just shades of grey🤨

Handy to know tho!"

It's compelling. Not as bad as it sounds.

I thought this might have been what happened! We all know GR likes to mess with us sometimes... *eye..."
Sorry, i have been ill and not really checking in. Check out Navajo Autumn, The Cold Dish and Open Season. I haven't read the last one but Ive got it andy sister-on-law loves the series

I'm a challenge reader right now. Though, I can be a mood reader, too. But i like reading for challenges as it gets me reading outside of my comfort zone. I recently had to read western mysteries and was surprised to enjoy them. Not a genre I would have picked up necessarily.
I read the Oct BOM not that long ago, so will be skipping that one.

You'll be missed.

I agree with y'all about the Bluest Eye. It is a fantastic emotional and powerful book. But Toni Morrison can do that. If you haven’t read Beloved, give it a go. It's not an easy read, but it has impact.

I got one from 2016 read. I liked it and gave it 4 stars (3.5 rounded up) but not as much as other I know have. I felt it was more of a list of situa..."
Lexi, that is good to know as I am debating buying this book. After comparing our books we seem to have similar tastes and ratings, think I might pass.

This book was okay. I think if I had been sold on a supernatural element before I startes reading, i may have liked it more. But because it was sold as acontemporary thriller, i found the (view spoiler) aspect quite hard to swallow.

Beautiful fable-like story. I look forward to reading the next one.

Really solid start to a series. There were a few contradictions, but they didn't detract from the overall story. Just little niggly things, like if you are a boarding school that is checked up on, which has previously been referenced how can you remain open or unaudited with quite a few kids going missing? That kind of thing

For some reason this book toom me a while and three attempts to get into it. I found the dad annoying at times. Well, almost all the time. I get that he didn't want to get his kid on meds, but his kid really needed some help. And the fact that he couldn’t even look at it as a short time solution was sad and frustrating. I found that aspect of it truly frustrating. So the ending was no surprise.

Absolutely fantastic! Aside from Rogue Protocol (not a closet qualifier) probably my favourite book of the month. Demon was an excellent narrator. Wonderful story populated with a colourful cast of characters, even if most of them remain one-dimensional.

Hands down the worst book I've read this year. Worse than that Yarros schlock! So racist. So stupid. I wrote a slightly more in depth review but, I would advise you to leave this one off of your tbr shelf.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

But I only have 6 left to go out of 125, so I don't mind having had a break from reading old tbr books, lol."
Yeah, I have a fair number of new reads too. This time though, I made myself choose a tbr first. If it fit I had to read it. Or finally admit defeat and take it back to the library. I rarely choose to re-read in group challenges. Not sure why.
